Chapter IX

One Personal Crisis After Another, the chapter. Alan please c'mon you can figure one of these things out. You're so close.

Also oops this is somehow the first update to this story this year? Granted this year has been fucking rough. I don't even want to think about it. Also please forgive any possible mistakes this chapter really wrestled the fuck out of me and I probably need to do more clean-up edits.

Some goofy notes in the translation document about the word 'okay'.

Some other random notes that will make sense after reading the chapter:

100% chance Martin's girlfriend has watched Supernatural while he's been around and he's got devil's traps and summoning circles on the brain ( the 4th season would be airing at this current time in 2008, hi Castiel).

I have always loved the way you depict Keyd and Rysa’s reaction to cars. SPOILERS?? to me it’s hints Rysa’s backstory and how she seems to adjust better to knew tech/cultures than Keyd.

Also Alan, there was an easier solution than making them hide 😆. “You know what, *don’t* try to hide. That’d look suspicious. Here. This is birdseed. Put it in this piece of fabric and pelt it back and forth at each other in the quad and if anyone walks towards you, just say “LARP!”

Alan is truly a terrible liar lmao it's part of his 'not being great at making up creative stuff out of nothing' problem. And the way they react to cars is definitely pretty telling about their abilities to adapt to new things!

Even when I *know* in my head that you’re gonna improve the story again this time around, I still get so fucking stunned when you pull it off. This chapter is so incredibly great (and I’m not just saying that cuz Chelsea’s back)

Calmly, and regardless of future rewrites, I've started writing reviews of the series on Goodreads, hoping some other Italians will be curious. I desperately need to talk about Alan and Keyd with a fellow Italian; for years, I've kept my passion for this story bottled up inside me.
