Ohhh my god Patreon completely changed up its posting system and now I don't know how to doooo anyyythiiing. But now there are scheduled posts? Yay? This is a test of that!

This is also a bonus commentary! By that, I meant that everyone at every tier can access it, when this is usually a $5+ only thing. This is a little bonus for sticking around through 2 months of nothing. Also sometimes I should probably share what's going on in other tiers so that people know?

Anyway, here is a bunch of commentary about the one shot! For everyone!

I had to chuckle at the commentary about Keyd's commentary of the Avatar movie. Oh and his complete inability to say the 'sh' sound. That was definitely new and I could see Ashley laughing a lot in the beginning. I was also thinking the exact thing about the guys giving them stink eye at the theater. They are too afraid of Keyd's size to dare try anything. Re. the difficulty understanding someone else in a 2nd language- interestingly enough I recently read an article on BBC that suggested English as a 2nd (or 3rd, 4th, whatever) language speakers communicate with one another better than English native speakers. Apparently the reason is related to their avoidance of slang, and use of more simplistic but also clearer and more concise words. However this is in a business setting so it'd be interesting to see if it actually translated over into casual every day conversations and interactions.

Haha yeah there are just certain English sounds Keyd can't say. Now that he has to speak in English more, he's noticing them much more and Alan's also noticing it (since he didn't really realize that Isji doesn't have a few sounds we do, he was too busy struggling to just learn how t be vaguely understood in it haha). And since Keyd is nowhere near fluent and has trouble with new sounds, that's why he has some issue understanding someone with an accent. I'm sure he could understand the actual meaning of the words just fine because yeah, less slang for sure and also clearer word use, but he'd just have trouble actually discerning sounds! At least until he's much better at English. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it! And Keyd's take on Avatar, haha :)

This is so great! Man Keyd's favorite (made up) contraction being willn't makes me laugh. I kind of love him making up contractions and rolling with it. And wow haha I never realized that how many people have ear piercings and how that would look to Keyd at first. Also, it doesn't surprise me at all that Alan finally just blurts out the truth re: otherwordly beings, and that's how his family finds out. But it is sort of awesome.

Glad you enjoyed it! If Alan can't tell Keyd why a contraction is wrong or isn't actually used, Keyd will keep on using it. And Alan is the wooooorst person to ask about grammar. At least Keyd is going by some consistent logic with it while Alan is just "it's that way because it just is, IDK don't ask me!" The piercing thing will be in Keyd's POV story for sure. Because for a little while it looks to them like there might be a lot of really murderous women around, and then some people who have just done ALL THE CRIMES. Blurting out huge important things is Alan's specialty. Talk first, damage control later, haha. I'd definitely want to do this one as a one-shot at some point.
