Sphere Kheshig (Kheshig Archetype)

Casting: The sphere kheshig may combine spheres and talents to create magical effects. The sphere kheshig is considered a Low-Caster. (Note: All casters gain 2 bonus talents and may select a casting tradition the first time they gain the casting class feature.)

This replaces the kheshig’s veilweaving class feature and essence pool.

Spell Pool: The sphere kheshig gains a small reservoir of energy they can call on to create truly wondrous effects, called a spell pool. This pool contains a number of spell points equal to their level + their casting ability modifier (minimum: 1). This pool replenishes once per day after roughly 8 hours of rest.

Magic Talents: A sphere kheshig gains 1 magic talent every time they gain a caster level. This does not stack with caster levels gained from other sources.

Veilweaver: At 1st level, the sphere kheshig gains the Veilweaving sphere and the Kheshig’s Tradition advanced talent as bonus talents and treats their sphere kheshig levels as levels in a Mid-Caster when determining their caster level for the Veilweaving sphere. This stacks with caster levels gained from other sources. If they already have either of these talents, they may select a Veilweaving talent of their choice to replace either duplicate.

Volur Veil List

The following veils, found in Akashic Classes: Kheshig, have been added to the volur’s veil list:

Hands: Beastmaster's Glove, Grace of the Goddess

Head: Instinct, Mask of the Hunter, Visage of Hunger

Shoulders: Monster Hunter’s Cloak

Headband: Delver’s Goggles

New Optional Rule: Steady Veils

When using this rule, every veil with a saving throw gains the Steady descriptor.

Sidebar: Steady

Veils with the Steady descriptor have the save DC of their abilities function differently than normal veils. Rather than being 10 + the amount of essence invested in the veil + your veilweaving modifier, the veil’s DC is 10 + ½ your veilweaving level + your veilweaving modifier. If the veil states that it gains a bonus to the veil’s DC via any essence invested in it, it gains those effects normally.

New Optional Rule: Unsteady Veils

When using this rule, all veils with the Steady descriptor lose that descriptor and instead use the normal saving throw DCs for veils (10 + essence invested + your veilweaving modifier).

Advanced Magic: Veilweaving Sphere

Tradition Talents

Some advanced Veilweaving talents are marked with (tradition). A character may only possess a single (tradition) talent from the Veilweaving sphere at any time.

Kheshig’s Tradition (tradition)

Prerequisites: Caster level 3rd

You gain knowledge of every veil on the kheshig veil list. If you already knew veils from that list, you may choose to replace those veils with other veils of your choice.
