April Challenge (Patreon)

Hi everyone,

Last month’s sun conure challenge was a colourful one – thank you to everyone who gave it a go! I loved seeing all the vibrant feathers come to life in your paintings.

This month I have an elegant orange lily for you. 🌿🧡

The vibrant orange against the green stems offers a great opportunity to work on colour harmony and contrast. If you mix your colours - consider using the same yellow to mix the orange for the lily and the green for the leaves.

Don’t worry about painting every leaf or detail – feel free to simplify the composition to suit your style. You could paint it in portrait orientation or if you prefer just paint the flower and buds and place the paper in landscape orientation.
