I love this episode. The part about privacy makes me so sad because Hudson's privacy has been invaded since December in every possible way. The hate, smear campaigns, and racism that Hudson Williams has been facing for the past seven months are completely out of control. Even journalists reporting on these attacks and smear campaigns have been receiving death threats. It's sickening to watch successful people of color constantly targeted by toxic online groups just to keep them in their place. It definitely feels like an orchestrated campaign to silence him. I feel so sad for him. I hope he doesn't lose his passion, continues doing what he loves, and keeps getting opportunities. Wishing him all the best and hoping he can maintain his peace.❤️‍🩹🧿

After HR, Hudson completed filming YAGA series & movie APPARATUS and a music video. He's currently filming TYRANT. Connor completed several projects right before HR: APRIL X which was awarded theater release in September. He also wrote, directed AND filmed on an iphone, his own film called TRANSACTION PLANET which is in post production. Hopefully in the future, it'll be in film festivals and/or released. He filmed 4 episodes for criminal minds season 19 just before HR aswell. Was supposed to just be 1 episodes but they were amazed and his character role was extended to 4 episodes After HR, he completed filming movie PEAKED, currently filming TURPENTINE in Atlanta (near me 😀) and will soon be filming move PLEASE. Also, let's not forget Hudson's PELOTON ad and Connor's VERIZON ad called "LOOK BEHIND YOU" which you should totally react to LOVE YA DYLAN 😘

On the topic of celebrity, Lindsay Ellis has done some strong pieces along these lines. The Beatles piece on Yoko Ono springs to mind. Granta magazine also did a very strong issue of short fiction of the topic 20 to 25 years ago. "Who is Phil Fish" is a strong introduction to the topic of how celebrity and social media intertwine in a toxic way.

I think right now Sam Rockwell is probably my favorite current actor that can do wrong not already mentioned here. Agree with Hudson that season 2 has to be more than 6 episodes, ideally 12 or an extra season out of the deal. I will be so sad if we don’t get much of Ryan Price’s story and I really want to go back the Kingfisher 🍻

I loved this interview so much, glad you enjoyed it too! I have to confess I don’t know half of the people hudson talked about, but it’s still so interesting to hear his thought process and his inspirations. LOVE the way he always credits women and female directors/actors/style influences too, I don’t take that for granted. I find it frustrating when people talk about him like he’s “wild” or “unleashed” or “needs media training” - he’s so clearly so intelligent and knows exactly what he’s saying and how he’s saying it. I also love the way he’s very intentionally shameless about filming nude scenes and talking about it - it would be very easy to be embarrassed/for media and interviews to get weird and intrusive but I love that instead he is the one to take the power in his own hands and make it weird first 😂 He’s so proud of the work he’s done and rightfully so!
