Update Blog - 6/10/23 (Patreon)

Even after a week since its release, people are still going crazy for what is currently the best animated feature of the year, Across the Spider-Verse. Many have already expressed their thoughts on the picture and made some trending posts about it, and later in the week, it was my turn. Not only did one of my posts about the film became popular, but my anticipated review of the film also came out to show my whole thoughts on what I've experienced (except for the time that I waited 50 minutes for the movie theater to play the film, but had to bail because I didn't have time for it anymore and reschedule to watch it that night, but that's another story). Anyways, here's what happened during my week with the movie and more.

- Released my review of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: In my review, I was debating rather if I thought the first or the second was better after what I've experienced. However, after some considerations (or maybe this is still the hype talking), I'm going to say for now that I personally like the second better. There is so much going on that it also ended up making my review to be another big one with so much to discuss, even longer than The Little Mermaid review! While I don't think it's an absolute perfect movie, what the team at Sony did here is incredible and easily one of the best sequels I've seen. And, like last time, this is another case where I gotta call out the anti-woke crowd and their obvious bigotry related to both this picture and how they've treated Miles Morales. I know I've made a few upset with condemning their hate-filled action, but it was necessary and does fit with the themes of the movie. I guess you could say that was my Hobie moment. With that said, this is such an amazing movie and I can't wait for the finale next year.

- One of the Best Moments of AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast: I don't normally talk about what happened in the podcast on these blogs, but I gotta say that this week's episode was really special. In fact, I'd even say one of the best ones of the whole series. As I brought my friend Devon back and we talked about subjects that we've seen like Across the Spider-Verse, The Little Mermaid (2023) and Lightyear, the biggest moment was when we talked about our experience with possibly my most toxic fan. This truly was amongst the craziest stories I've ever told in the podcast about one fan whom, for years, was so desperate to be my "partner", yet gets so upset any time he gets criticism or if anyone says no to him. At the same time, what also made that moment so memorable was when me and Devon talked about what is actual friendship and discussed how we became friends, even when she started out as just as fan of my videos. I think it's safe to say that I went through a lot with that guy, but I'm hoping that, now that I've blocked him across my accounts, I'll never hear from him again. Let's hope I don't have to do a part 2 of this story :P

- Filming & Editing Animation Lookback: The Muppets Part 6: Other than going through Spider-Verse mania, the other main project I was working on was Part 6 of AL: The Muppets. Thankfully, this week gave me a break from all the movies I'll have to watch and review, so I did get more time to get this project done sooner and have it be ready for its release. At this point, not only did I do all the filmning with Puppet AniMat, but I also have been editing most of the whole video. I won't say that I'm fully finished with it, especially when a large portion of the work is finding the various clips, especially during the segments when they got bought by Disney and their little moment as Internet stars, but as you are reading this, I'd say that I"ll just need one more week to finish this off and there may be a chance that I'll have this done before I get to reviewing Elemental. I'll explain a bit more details about Part 6 in the next Blog, but it's so far shaping up to be a fun one.

So that's been my whole week while Spider-Verse has been dominating cinemas so far. We're getting closer to the summer time, so that also means that I'll soon have to plan my things accordingly and get around a lot of stuff that's been planned for me. There's a lot of crazy moments coming our way, but until next time...
