Just like when she discovers that she is the princess of the krakens, Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken nearly gave me a panic attack with how much of a mess this whole thing can be. Sounds crazy I know, but I’ll explain in my review why Ruby Gillman gave DreamWorks Animation a major downgrade.

I actually chose to see this instead of Indian Jones because I wanted to support original IP's

When you mentioned about how ruby Gillman is slightly better than Shark Tale, it made me wonder when you’re going to review that film in your classic reviews. I actually grew up watching Shark Tale and as an adult watching the film now, it’s not as good as how I saw it as a kid. I would like to know why you hate the film like other critics do.

While I personally wouldn’t go as far and say it’s one of Dreamworks worst animated films, it’s not one of their best either, although I can at least understand why some people would really like it. I do agree that the story is pretty predictable and you can easily figure out what’s going to happen, on top of some of the characters not being written that story, especially with what they do with Chelsea in this movie, but I do think the animation is really solid and the action scenes are fun to watch. Overall, this did end up being a disappointment, but I wouldn’t call it bad, and I can see why people would like it. And it really is kinda a shame that this movie ended up bombing at the box office on its opening weekend and ended up getting the worst opening ever for a Dreamworks Animation movie, regardless of what you think of the film, it really was because of multiple reasons, the fact Universal announced this movie just three and a half months before its release date, the release date itself with all the competition going on in theaters right now, and especially the marketing and how it ended up being absolutely terrible and how it just spoils almost the entire movie, and it really is unfortunate, but maybe it will happen that Ruby Gillman can in the future become a cult favorite Dreamworks film similar to what happened to The Road to El Dorado and Rise of the Guardians. Honestly the only good thing I can say about this is that it’s making all those Disney haters look like complete idiots right now with how those morons believe that Universal is winning because there animated films are successful while Disney’s continue to flop, but considering that Elemental on its third weekend made more money than Ruby Gillman made on its opening weekend is a bad sign, so the fact that all those Disney haters are embarrassing themselves and making themselves look like complete idiots right now is so satisfying.

So all that hating on Disney and Pixar in favor of praising Dreamworks as the new kings of animation was all for nothing? “I’m surrounded by a**holes!” - Dark Helmet

I'll be straight with this one, just by the trailers alone I then and now still have no interest for this film. I didn't need to see your review to know that this film is entirely mediocre. In Fact I say it's from the marketing alone is what kinda ruined the film especially with the twist we weren't suppose to know were already spoiled to begin with that Elemental had more of an appeal then this. Although to say I don't think Dreamworks sent a false alarm. With me I say it's more of a hiccup, I know not everything is gonna come up greatly in the long run, but I believe they're still trying to work on getting back up with project that has more of their interest.

I think DreamWorks maybe taking the L this year if Ruby & Trolls 3 are their only movies this year however I'm hopeful that next year they do better Granted the animation looks nice but I'd rather watch more Nimona on Netflix than drive to my local theater on a day off or off work

When I saw this movie in early screening thanks to Regal Cinemas doing some mystery movie screenings, I thought it was okay but I didn’t think it was that bad. Yeah I find nothing new when it comes to the writing despite being an original film that DreamWorks Animation has ever made since Abominable as it feels too similar to Turning Red and maybe Luca on top with some hit or miss comedy, some bland characters, and a predictable plot due to the marketing which I’ll get into in a bit. But the rest I don’t find that bad like the some creative animation outside of the humans, good voice acting, the interesting world building, and few characters like Ruby herself that are considered fine. Still, it is downgrade compared to what DreamWorks has done in 2022 with The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots The Last Wish, but I don’t think it terrible either. I know I’m not looking forward with Trolls 3 later on this year but unless that third film proves to be worst than Ruby Gillman, then I’ll most likely take an original film over another bland sequel that no one cares about. Finally, may I say shame on Universal for the poor marketing because they way rushed it out and spoiled everything as if they try sabotage this movie on purpose is absolutely terrible especially it is now performing worst than what how Elemental is performing at the box office. It made Disney’s marketing towards that film looked superior than this because what Universal did was just shameful. I know I didn’t expect this to be all that good but come on man!

this film honestly fees like what happens when you throw a bunch of dreamworks cliches into a blender

What interests me the most is in regard to what is Universal's goal with DreamWorks Animation. I know it is not good on them with the marketing of this movie, but I want to know if they are going to push more with Trolls 3 than Ruby Gillman. And I checked DreamWorks's upcoming movies after Ruby and Trolls and they have Kung Fu Panda 4 and Orion and the Dark (which the latter will be put on Netflix). Which I am having questions why they aren't pushing anything original in theaters? Sure the Bad Guys gets a pass but I am curious about what is going on. And just to clarify I got these upcoming movies from Wikipedia just to check.

Mario: Well, I guess that was just too much to ask. I set my hopes a little too high for Ruby Gillman.

Lady Tyler Bio Rodriguez

Well that was an expected failure. What a mess, and what a time to do a Gordon Lightfoot joke.

Bowser Junior: Wow. I’m genuinely surprised. I didn’t expect much from it, but I actually like this. This movie is not bad.
