Beware the Sin of empathy, The simple sin of empathy,Forget about your fellow humans’ strife.
I mean theSin of empathy,That isn't how we're meant to beIgnore the sin of empathy for life.
Wherever I wander,Wherever I roam,I see lazy poor folks Without a home.No sleeping bags allowed in the park,No making s’mores for fun after darkArrest those people napping outside,Or living inside their rusted-out ride,Or maybe bust the heads of a few...No homeless beds! We got no empathy for you.No beds for you.
Beware theSin of empathy,Being nice when you don't have to be,Ignore that woman scrambling for food.
And if she has a family,Just sneer at her calamity,It's not your fault if she can't feed her brood.
When you hear a sermon On the Golden Rule,Asking rich folks for mercyIs just being a fool. We're fighting every night and day for those who want to cut your payThe oligarchs won't let you profit,They want to get ALL the money off it.Now, haven I given you a clue? They have no empathy for anyone like you.Damn sure not for you.
Forget the bare necessities,Food, shelter, health care remedies,An education, a library or two. You’d best be meek and mollifiedWhen they say,”You're not qualified,”They don't intend to pay a cent to you.
Avoid theSin of empathy,Look on your fellow man as evil,Undeserving of the slightest aid. That's why weAlways have a clerkTo load folks down with paperwork Don't let the sin of empathy cascade.
And keep the social fabric nice and frayed They won't get paid.Make sure they're played,Angry and afraid By their country betrayed. We can have an ICE raid! While the rich upgrade.
