The Hoyt Axton classic, as recorded by Three Dog Night. Love this song.

Well, I've never been to Spain But I kinda like the music Say the ladies are insane there And they sure know how to use itThey don't abuse it Never gonna lose it Can't refuse it, oh noWell, I've never been to England But I kinda like the Beatles Well, I headed for Las Vegas Only made it out to NeedlesCan you feel it? Must be real, it Feels so good Oh, it feels so goodWell, I've never been to Heaven But I've been to Oklahoma Well, they tell me I was born there But I really don't rememberIn Oklahoma, not Arizona What does it matter? It doesn't matterOh, I've never been to Spain But I kinda like the music Say the ladies are insane there And they sure know how to use itThey don't abuse it Never gonna lose it I can't refuse it, oh noWell, I've never been to Heaven But I've been to Oklahoma, yeah Well, they tell me I was born there But I really don't rememberIn Oklahoma, not Arizona It doesn't matter, oh noIn Oklahoma, not Arizona It doesn't matter, oh no....

I grew up on Hoyt Axton! And I’ve often thought some of your tracks sound like him.

Janet Coburn

Sometimes Hoyt would sing, "In Oklahoma. Born in a coma." I'm much less familiar with the 3DN version.

Ira Parker

I met Hoyt Axton when I was a teen (during the mid 1970s). He was performing at our local theme park. He said "You with the hair on your head" to get my attention, and asked me to manage the line for autographs. Such a fun memory. I still haven't been able to see Three Dog Night, but have albums.

My dad used to run sound for him sometimes before he signed with the record labels. I had a bunch of original reel to reel live concert tapes that got stolen from my storage unit.

Hoyt Axton was one of the performers at the Bread and Roses concert where I met my husband.
