This is just a mild taste of the contempt I feel for modern politics as practiced by one party. Guess which one.

Well the Founding Fathers saidWe should write up our nation’s planSomething that no other nation canGet right so far

So the Constitution hadAll the articles and laws we’d use,With ways to keep ‘em from being abusedBy those in power

Oh but theUnderlying and core assumption Was they were loyal to the causeThey would not have the greed  or gumptionTo make themselves a ruling class or undermine the lawsThey’d be men of good faith

MaybeThey were over optimistic toJust presume lawmakers of the fu-Ture had our interests at heartBabyWho suspected that the whole right wingWould stoop to pretty much anythingIncluding tearing us apart

They use theSocial issues to hurt and divide us,While grabbing every dollar they can getThey act insulted when we ask they provide usWith basic public service or a social safety netThey act in bad faith

(We cannot allow Democrats to haphazardly -- nay, insanely -- run up the deficit! Only WE can haphazardly run up the deficit!

We cannot allow excessive regulations to protect workers’ safety at the expense of corporate profits! Besides, there are a LOT more workers where that came from!)

Ohh oh they’ve Violated the Constitution,The oaths they took, saying they would serve,But fortunately there’s one solution We’ve got to vote ‘em out and then they’ll get what they deserveFor acting in bad faith
