Sette has a da, of course, but if this other one was indeed of any relation to her, she'd kick his ass.One more page of storytime on Monday, and then we'll get to just what Lady Ilganyag wants of our little Frummagem.

So what this universe really needed from the start was an Emil Toma. Also, very interesting line there about the Gods.

Man. Story of our own world a bit, ain't it. Always so eager to invent and release a new technology, always so taken aback by the consequences. I really love how eerie the timelessness of the khert is!

Rifter

I'm seriously seeing the khert and can't help drawing parallels to Kurt Vonnegut and his Tralfamadorians right now. Such an interesting concept of every memory across time existing all at once. Even if it might have been a mistake...

"Always he could woo me" I don't think anything Sessine is saying here is a lie, but she's putting some rhetorical work in to downplay her own agency in all this. It'd be one thing if it was just a text dump to the audience, but this takes on an uncomfortable tone of an adult aiming for sympathy points before asking their kid to do something that will be bad for them

Kay

Call me naive, but I think Ilganyag is being truthful on this page.

Mister Scarecrow

And there it is. The story was imposed from without, but because the timelessness of the Khert is co-extant at all times and places with every other time and place, everything was poisoned all at once, and always was.

Mister Scarecrow

Imagine Sessine just saying "Haha, my pet monkeys are so funny and clever and this one is a real smooth talker, and very passionate. I'm going to let him RETCON THE MACHINERY OF REALITY ITSELF in a way I'm not sure I can fix!"

Renee

It’s interesting she said she was wooed when it seems that Lady I is usually the one doing the wooing

So, at this point, I'm pretty confident it's Ssael. This also neatly explains why he "lied" in Northsongs. But a question remains: what did he blame Ilganyag for?

Duke BG

I think at least 40% of what Sessine is saying/implying is BS.

Natalie

so much to think about on these pages but man do I just love Sessine's big spiky hands. they're so expressive and alien at the same time. the middle panel on this page is fantastic.

Noxae

Love the concept of modifying the khert, only you didn't and it was already that way and will be that way for all of time. And then the Man forgetting about it! Love the prose here too. 'Mediocrity crusting into fractal morass' goes so hard.

dzefs

All this time I'd assumed that when the bird said she'd been "trapped" in the Khert, she'd meant by her Vile Enemies, and increasingly I wonder if it was more an, "I locked my keys in the car" kind of vibe

Madison

You know, realizing that this is possible and the implications makes me think of Sette mentioning that she ended bad things a long time ago. What… what’s the mean huh…. Huh Sette….?

Capsandnumbers

If this is Ssael that's very funny. He turns up in world 2.1 like "What kind of sick asshole would set this up? I wanna talk to em"
