It's been a power of years since we've seen Orlina. She's still Leysa's mom and Mikaila's grandma, and Uncle Guiscard here is her eldest son.

Times have not been great for her. She was pretty broken up by Duane dying and Mikaila nearly dying. She and Lemuel don't get along very well (this is kind of funny because she always secretly wished Leysa had married him instead, monkey paw curls). And last year her husband died, making Guiscard the head of the family. That never affected the Adeliers much with Lemuel around, but with Lem MIA, it's suddenly become very relevant to Mikaila's life.

Anyway, Mikaila's not too keen to go home...
