This is a scene where I really wish we had audio. Duane's laugh must sound like the saddest noise in the world.

But Lemuel just wasn't thinking. His heart wanted DUANE; not the monster that his more rational mind knew Duane had become. Lem's not one for Best Worlds though. He'll deal with this reality now and address it as he must.

Lem, your brother needs a hug. He may not smell very good, but he really needs that hug.

Thought we had a bit more of an interlude before we get back to the brothers, a welcome surprise. Lem's reacting about as I guessed he would, Duane though he's really not helping matters is he? Some consoling words would do Lem a lot of good here, though perhaps that isn't really their relationship is it? Seems he's doing what he can to connect with Lemuel but man it doesn't seem to be very kind is it.

Looks like someone can't stand to look at their own handiwork. Speaking of awkward and painful, I want Sette to appear from the stairwell and give him a cold cinquedea suppository, but I know this isn't going to happen... Yet.

Because in about 2 pages it won't matter anymore, I will reiterate that I am still absolutely convinced that Lem was in on the whole thing and that Mikaila is still alive. BUT that's just because 1) Lem is a single source of information and I don't trust that at all AND 2) it's the most emotionally complicated and painful outcome I can think of for Duane and that's what he always seems to get. Dead daughter isn't clean enough for him. With that off my chest, Ashley, please continue with your story :D

And the haircut line is solid gold. "A right criminal..." So good...

This comic page is a really powerful emotional moment for anyone who has come home to find the burrito they've been looking forward to eating all day has gone bad.
