Escape From Blackwood Manor: Chatter Animations (Patreon)

Hey Everyone, here's a Quick Update to show how things are developing in Escape from Blackwood Manor, Today I'm going to talk in detail about the Chatter System

When I first started working on this game I made a note make as many unique Character Animations as possible, these are all intended to make our Heroine feel alive and more like a real person who you want to save from this crazy predicament she's in.

To that end this week I've been putting a lot of work into the Chatter System, which is pretty much what it sounds like, when the character is talking to themselves or to anyone else their sprites and poses are animated. And a lot of these Sprites and Animations are Unique to what the character is currently doing, so if she's picking up a ball gag its gonna be in her hand, if she's reading a book you guessed it there's gonna be a book in her hand.

So far as of this moment there are 92 separate animations for the main character (and also for another character who you might meet in the Demo when it's finished' no spoilers), and there are a LOT more planned, it's pretty enjoyable making this character animated and feel alive with both her expressions and her dialogue but it is taking a bit of time because every single one is hand edited, so if you haven't checked it out click the video link above for a quick example of how she talks.
