Hi guys! I need your help/feedback on a few things at the moment. So I will try and bulletpoint a few of the larger topics that we discuss in the video -

Plans over the next week or so

Paid-For Requests (pay an amount for a perticular movie YOU want me to check out)To Sync or Not to Sync (the benefits and dangers of both)Potential (if not a lil strange) plans for April Fools Day on the Channel

I wasn't expecting this to go over 20 minutes, so sorry it is a lil long. But we have a few things I would love your opinions on! :)Thanks guys! Have a super weekend!!

In terms of paid-for requests, I have no issue with it, but just a warning, the reactors that tend to allow this often get overwhelmed with too many requests, even when they are quite expensive. So make sure if you do that, you set it to a price which would actually be sustainable for you. In terms of sync vs not, not syncing is definitely way more convenient, especially with the pauses you do in the middle. There's a split between reaction channels on exactly what they do, Badd Medicine for instance has their own website where they post non-sync versions of everything which get taken down after 20 days, along with sync versions that stay up. This is a bit more complicated of course, and they are a very large channel. If you do choose to go back to sync versions, please leave in a blurred and muted version of the video, that makes syncing up and resyncing after the pauses easier.

VeggieGamer

Oh yeah, if we do go back to sync required reactions, the full blurred muted video (with timeline) will definitely be there (I have actually found a much faster way to export now, making this much easier).

Ren

Pay for spesific content- YES im all for it! Maybe you can have like a spesific amaount of available spots/request each month etc if you don't want it to take over all the time Also yes Badd medicine and other reactors still do fully synced up. I love the synced up versions but if you yourself is not comfortable with it then you shouldnt feel like you have to. Also i dont remember this from before you did synced up, but if you go back to us needing our own copy can you provide a link/source to which streaming service you used in case there is that milisecond problem again (if you remember 😅) and if you go back to that would you use the blurred screen or go completely back to before you did that?

I think the paid for movie reactions are perfectly fine. You've got to earn a living and it seems silly to reject those requests when there is a good chance many of your patrons have also seen the movie and would enjoy a reaction. Don't be afraid to make the price steep. I'm honestly not sure of the legality surrounding synced copies on patreon. I didn't watch you during the Yandere simulator days but it would open new viewers to some Veggie lore. Most of your patrons love lore so maybe people will be into it simply to learn about you? I know I'd watch it.

Steven

I am ALL for paid for movie reactions, It'll be a good way to get some variety into the reactions, too. I have a couple of suggestions that I know I'd definitely pay for. I watch another YT channel (AwsomeUSMovies) which does this too, and the paid requests tend to always be some of the more enjoyable videos. As for synced up reactions (as long as you're okay with it) I personally can edit the reactions up and sync them for myself personally, do whats best for you in this situation. If it's causing anxiety, I'd say to stop the streamable. I didn't find your channel until you started doing reactions but I think doing a Yandere simulator video could be a fun thing for april fools, and The Last Airbender would be a wonderful real april fools joke XD

Bruce Woodcock

For April Fools, you should just stream Hogwarts Legacy, because it feels like it's been 7 years since you've played that too. :(

Kocia

I love this idea!

Annabellae Priestly

Looooove the idea of paid reactions! As far as sync’d or not — I definitely prefer synced BUT having to sync myself isn’t anywhere near a dealbreaker - do what you think you should!

Alex Hopps

I once paid for someone to react to one of my songs on stream, i was immensely proud of it and receiving praise from someone whos opinion i respect meant the world to me. I do struggle to put myself in the mind of someone who wants to pay substantially for a movie reaction, but if it makes them happy.. why not. Id certainly never begrudge u doing whatever u need to do to keep the dog treat cupboard fully stocked up. If it interests me I'll watch, if it means the book review i donated £3 towards is a few days later than usual, I'll get over it, u do whats best for u mate

Alex Hopps

Regarding synqs, i fully understand your reasons, having lost my pc when i lost my house i couldnt watch if u reverted, although im sure if it were to effect avatar id definitely find a way. It would never stop me subscribing here though, im here mostly for book club and because i respect the lack of greed u have with this page

PumpkinSparks

It's funny that there is such a big overlap between you and Badd Medicine. I wouldn't have put you guys in the same niche of reactors, but I guess you attract the same kind of viewers since all of you are very honest and transparent in your reactions and are not afraid to be emotional and discuss everything deeper than just "oh that was fun" I don't know how Badd Medicine does full reactions (I only watch their youtube), but I know Mortius and Casper Fox show the full movie/show on their patreon version but obscure the screen (either put a very prominent watermark on top of it, or split the screen in half with a little gap in the middle), because they rightfully say that they are not substitutes for watching the show/movie. I personally hate synching up to reactions (it will occupy half my brain power to make sure it stays synched, often the movie might not be available in every country, or it's a different version...) But obviously the moment our asks become too exhaustive for you, it's not worth it. We enjoy watching you, because you enjoy making the reactions. If you stop enjoying it, we all lost the point! I think paid reactions are a neat idea. It happens quite often that one show does really well, and then people start recommending stuff that is similar, and reactors start to get pigeonholed into one subgenre. I'm not saying this is happening with your channel, but deciding some new content via a pole and some via request might negate that trajectory before it starts. As some have already pointed out, it might lead to an overload of work though. So maybe either limit the requests x amount per quarter or something like that. Or have specific moments when requests are open. Like, announce that you open a window for requests, once that is closed it's closed and you work through the list, once you get to the end of the list you open up a new window. Or obviously, if you have a different idea do that! But these are the 2 options I've seen people do, and they seem to work quite well.

PumpkinSparks

I know, this was not part of this video. But in the last Avatar reaction (I think?) you mentioned that you went to a barber for the first time. And watching this video now, I re-realized that they did a great job! As someone who really wished they could grow a beard, cause beards are awesome, and looked far too much into beard care for some reason: that is a very nice looking beard! The edges are sharp, it looks full and healthy, it fits your face shape - well done!

Esmeralda Joy

I'm here for book club. I'm not a patreon of any other creator becuase I much prefer the shorter youtube highlights to full length reactions. That being said, I love the idea of paid reactions and have a few lesser reacted to movies I might be willing to pay for. I'd pay $50 easily, $75 probably, $100 maybe, >$100 probably not. I don't know where that falls of those willing to pay, just what its worth to me. Set a price that makes it worth your time and hopefully they overlap, even if not with me. This also means the sync becomes more important. If people are requesting whatever movie they want, it's less likely that we have that movie available to sync up, even if we've already seen it.

Jake M

My question on Streamable is, what makes syncing the movies any different from syncing the TV shows? Both touch on the same controversial free use copyright area, after all, irrespective of how old they are (Not trying to start argument, sorry if it comes across that way! Just genuinely confused what makes them sit differently.)

Jake M

Quidditch World Cup for April Fool's? You did spend the early movie reactions/book clubs repeatedly saying you wanted to play that but never did! XD

SapientButterfly

One other reactor I follow takes on paid requests for movies and tv shows and finds it works really well for him. Often a group of Patreon members will actually club together and share the cost of a request if a lot of them want to see the same thing. However it's definitely important to make sure you set a limit on this to how many and how frequently you can feasibly do and not overload yourself. As for synced vs un-synced, synced is obviously much easier and more convenient, but is definitely not a deal breaker. There may be some movies I would be more inclined to wait for the YouTube edit but that's no big deal. You should do whatever you feel most comfortable in doing 😊

fluffqueen91

While I don't have the funds to pay for specific movie requests, I know a lot of creators have been successful with it! It'd be interesting to see what other patrons want you to react to enough to pay extra! I agree with other people who've said you need to put a limit on requests - we definitely don't want you to get overwhelmed! ❤️ I personally struggle with reactions that don't have an unblurred version of the original content in the corner. I have access to and have already watched the content I seek out reactions for, but the double-screen/window requirement that comes with finding our own version of media tends to give me a headache even for shorter videos. It also causes me to miss some reaction moments since it's difficult/impossible to properly watch both screens/windows, and "rewinding" is hard when you're trying to keep two videos synced. A lot of reactors have started blurring or watermarking the original content even on Patreon, and while I kind of understand where they're coming from, it's honestly been disappointing and frustrating that I can't pay my favorite reactors extra to avoid a headache anymore. 😭

SaChaMa

I’d love a possibility to request specific movie reactions! Maybe there could be a second option, which the reactor couple TBR Schmitt do: for a certain Patreon “rank”, you can suggest one movie every months which goes onto a kind of wheel of fortune and they pick one movie at random from it every month. Could be a fun possibility at lower cost if not everyone can or wants to afford the price for requests.

Sunblooded

While I couldn’t afford to pay for a specific film (if it’s any more than like £15-20 per film) it makes sense and I’d love the option for those who can afford it, I’d say maybe do it on a tiered level so it depends on how long the film is, like 1 hour film = x amount, 1.5 = x ect…… cus idk but to me it doesn’t make sense to pay the same for a 1.5 hour film and then a 4+ epic, but obviously that’s up to u The 2 films I would love to pay for if I had the money (and maybe a lot of others will agree and we could pool together and each pay a certain amount to afford it) are wicked pt 1 and pt 2 And when it’s available on streaming I’d love to see project Hail Mary as well So if that is a thing and others agree we could work tother to afford them And I really struggle with syncing up films to reactions, I genuinely can’t watch the unsynced versions, the one other Patreon I have for reactions does synced up reactions, it can be blurred/ the audio distorted so people can see/ hear what’s going on for the reaction without just showing the film in a way that you could watch it for the first time that way

Declan

Would absolutely love it if you started taking paid requests!

Aubrey Mayes

I typically only watched synced content because I watch mostly on my phone and its a real struggle to have to sync up. But occasionally I’ll make it work, I just can’t watch as often! But I’m also a writer, so I very much understand how copyright works and that you need to protect yourself and your content.

SpeedyBrandon95

I have been watching various different reaction channels for many years and I have seen plenty of reactors provide the video within the reaction in some way. At the same time some are purely watchAlong. Personally I think that if you mirror/flip the image and change the transparency slightly then you would be attempting to provide a way to follow along without showing the pure movie. I also have to use my iPad a lot of the time when I’m watching movie reactions and it isn’t possible to have multiple things playing at the same time. Syncing everything in one video isn’t just easier but also much more accessible for those who can only have a single video playing at a time.

Logical Dreamer

I know a reaction channel that does both but they offer the no sync for only a month before taking it down...wrote this and then you mentioned Bad Medicine who is literally the channel I was talking about lol I do suggest putting a limit on requested reactions. I know another reactor who had to stop his because it got too much.

Jake M

I watched it through and you spoke about the age being relevant, but what I meant was why the same fear for old films doesn't exist for old shows. The copyright holders can strike down just as quickly, past precedent be damned.

Jake M

I suppose the term 'sit right with me' implied a moral issue to me, that's all! Sorry for being confused/confusing! 😅

VeggieGamer

You are right. I am an asshole either way

Jake M

Not true! Please don't think that. All of us here think you are a wonderful person !

Michael Smith

I think paid for reactions could be an added income stream for you. I would put some restrictions on it. Definitely needs to be worth your time. Would need to fit your vibe so you can put it on YouTube. I would limit how many a single person could request. Limit how many you do. Say one a month or once a quarter whatever you feel you can fit in. Don’t feel bad about saying NO to something you just don’t want to do. Having the expectation established ahead of time helps keep you sane in the process. As for the synced movies. I prefer the synced ones but will support whatever makes you most comfortable.

Jo Winters

I wanted to say that I am so sorry that people are causing you upset on YouTube. People are so fucking bitter, so rageful, and so mean and cynical. It's insane and pathetic. I want to say that I think you are a breath of fresh air on social media, where algorithm often awards overly critical and petty analysis. You helped me through extremely dark and suicidal times by being a normal/sane, enthusiastic and geeky person. You reminded me of the joy of things, of being wholesome. So thank you and you are awesome. Don't let the muggles get you down. Maybe if you react to series only, post the information about it on YouTube, and do reactions only on Patreon? Because people are honestly insane in their exaggerated hate against the series and the writer. You aren't harming any human rights by watching it; it's a pure lie by people who are either virtue signalling or are seriously disturbed individuals with no real moral compass.

Garfnob

i think you should put less on the poll and do them more often. say 10. then you remove the winner and the lowest voted 4. put 5 new ones on. everyone gets on vote. would keep things fresh. just my opinion, and i do not know how much work that would be. payed reactions could take over the channel. i think it should come down to. do you need the money? unforgettably living needs to come first. if you are doing OK in the money department i would say no put it on the polls. it will have a better chance of winning that way. no sync movies are convenient particularly for harder to find option, but there is the legal downside (that is a big one). the April Fools thing sounds like a wast of your time for a joke few will get. unless it helps your mental, health to do it. also it does not fit the intent of an April Fools joke. they are meant to trick people into thinking something that is not real is real (you are a Fools if you fall for the joke). i guess April Fools joke are redundant with the way the world is now days. :(

Garfnob

"Maybe if you react to series only, post the information about it on YouTube, and do reactions only on Patreon?" - i think that would hurt the YouTube channel and as a result not get more Patreons

Jo Winters

I think you are very likely right, unfortunately. It's not a great business move at all.

Dara Jeeling

I am kind of excited about the idea to play for a movie (or two) There is one that has been on the list twice - which I would really love you to react to. The othe rone is I think my all time favourite Alan Rickman movie but it's not really that welll known. So IF you do, I'd love to sponsor the first one for somewhere autum And the Rickman one whenever you would want me to. But no pressure! as for the HP series XD I think you can only get into the middle, since the fans are so split about it. I already have decided it is not for me. I now have the full cast audio books PLUS the characters I imagined when the books came out (before the first movie ever came out) and for me it works perfect to listen to the full cast audio and close my eyes and see my characters. The trailer looked amazing, I like the vibes I am not a big fan of a lot of changes they made on grown up characters - like no fat Vernon and I really do not like the Peggy Bund" look Molly Weasley gives. Still hope it's gonna be a sucsess and the kids have a blast and it gets good ratings. and all those who want to watch will have a great time, too! Sadly if you watch the trailer you can see as taht when 270l like it 178k do not like it. This series has become all about splitting the fans (sadly) So I think it will be highly frustrating to stay in the middle - because you then literally are bewteen both groups XD AS far as patreon goes - as long as you do the book club, I am not going anywhere, tbh! Even if I really can not do much due to constant eye surgery over the last year and fading eyesight I love the book club!

Emery Sea

As someone that doesn't have a reliable way to sync your video with my own copy of something (when I have my own copy), your synced videos are so very helpful. Obviously, don't jeopardize your channel for one person though.

Madikuma95

"Ron's feet are not book-accurate." Truly the greatest disappointment of them all. 😔

Jo Winters

The dislike ratio to likes is incorrect btw, so don't look at that as it doesn't matter

Dara Jeeling

Since I have trouble seeing things, I went with some numbers but the dislike ratio is ery high, sadly

Travis Terreault

I love your in depth reactions and how much you enjoy characters that I've been wanting to see you watch Chronicle if you've never seen it. If not don't look into it.

Hanneli Norrgard

I do not plan to watch the show because all of these remakes are always terrible. This was seems to be likely to be rife with politicization, too. That's a no go for me. Not needing our own copy is nice just because it's easier, but I watched you when we had to have our own versions can would keep doing so. The only issue is when I can't find the material on any of our services.

Jo Winters

It's not a remake, it's a different adaptation of the source material.

Jo Winters

It's irrelevant, don't worry. Finding Harry is second most watched film on HBO Max ever, and it's been there like second day only.

Darcy

I've been behind on Patreon content but I see you're doing paid reactions now, how much are you charging and how do we go about it? I have a couple movies I would pay for
