"Do they not know what demons are?" Remember! In episode 1, when the old guy on the mountain tells Tanjiro not to go up the mountain back to his house after dark, because demons are around, Tanjiro doesn't believe him. He even reminisces that his grandmother used to tell him similar stories. To everyday people, demons are just folklore and superstition. And from the demons' perspective, that kind of makes sense -- they can only walk around at night since the sun kills them (we saw the first demon that Tanjiro encountered in episode 2 evaporate from sunlight), and with the Demon Slayer Corps sending out agents to hunt them like they sent out Tanjiro, the demons who aren't sneaky with their kills get targeted and hunted themselves. Not really effective to openly spread terror. (I don't think they've given much info about the Demon Slayer Corps itself and its viewpoint at this point in the story, so I won't comment on that side of things)

Only Muzan (that is the first demon) is able to turn people into demons, the rest of the demons can't do it

😭😂 RIP ALL MY PRONUNCIATIONS. Lol I think ep 11 I start saying it correctly. As well as so many other things I've learned from the comments haha 🙌 I think moving forward for reactions I'm going to look up all proper nouns as I learn them... we can't have another Corps/Ufotable/Flamme fiasco lol blaming it still on me being so new to this world/anime. 😊

This is where the English dub can be a lot of help -- at least in shows like Frieren, where all the names are German-based (most character names are just German words) and they did a pretty good job of using the appropriate pronunciation, by and large.
