This trio cracks me up! Inosuke screaming and throwing his pillow into Zenitsu's face always gets me.

It’s a good thing Tanjiro is so calm and patient, dealing with Inosuke and Zenitsu has to be so overstimulating 😂 Also this is random but I just now realized I told you a false piece of information. During episode 12 you asked if the intro/outro stay the same for the whole season or not and I said the intro stays the same while one scene in the outro changes slightly but it’s actually the other way around. At some point soon, there will be a very slight change in the intro scene, while the outro stays consistent. My apologies 🙃😂

Small explanation on the ending: as happens with all fandoms, people get *very* attached to character ensembles in manga and anime. So much so that people like to imagine those characters transplanted into other settings as "alternate universe" (AU) story pieces. You'll see these as fan-fiction stories, short stories, fan comics, artwork, and sometimes even official work from the author or publisher. (We'll frequently see merchandise of fantasy characters in modern-day clothing, for example.) One of the most popular kinds of AU stories is the "high school AU", where the characters are reimagined as high school students, and older characters or mentors are depicted as school faculty like teachers and principles. The ending skit of this episode is one such example of a brief high school AU, imagining the new main trio of Demon Slayer newbies as new students introducing themselves on the first day of class, while Giyu Tomiaka (the guy from episode 1 who almost killed Tamjiro and Nezuko, but told them to seek out Urokodaki-sensei to train!) is depicted as a strict no-nonsense teacher who sternly admonishes the trio for characteristic aspects of their character design that even carried over into their high school versions. I always giggle at "official" high school AU skits like these, because it's like the author is acknowledging and leaning into the popularity of these AUs, or maybe is an enthusiast themselves! Plus, imo it's a sign of a strong cast of characters if they can be completely divorced from their setting and circumstances but their interpersonal dynamics still lead to interesting situations.

On visual styles in manga vs anime: Manga most often have one primary illustrator, sometimes with assistants if they have the money or financial backing from contracts, so their visual style tends to be mostly that illustrator's personal style, perhaps tempered by the feedback/demands of the editor. (Much like how novels are usually written by one author, so the writing style is personal to them, with some pushback by the editor.) Incidentally, the illustrator is *I think* most often the writer too, so the whole manga is usually their personal brainchild. (I'm not 100% confident that "most" manga is like that; I know some have a primary author and a separate illustrator, but I don't have definite knowledge on how less common that is, if at all) However, an animation studio has a whole team of animators, who not only need to be able to draw the characters consistently, but also need to make them *move.* So it's common for shapes to be smoothed or simplified to make them easier to animate, as well as shading and textures dramatically simplified or sometimes ignored entirely. There's a whole new layer of executive decision-making too, and producers with a lot of money invested in making this peoject may want to ensure (for example) that the character designs align more closely to reliable market trends in popular characters of the current times. So with all these factors active, it's not unusual to see some differences in visual styles between a manga and its anime adaptation, usually with the manga looking more "stylized" because it's generally one person's style, not really meant for motion.

😭😭 I was finding it LOL quartet was kind of a crazy pull haha the term wasn't coming to me. 😂 I'll try to stick w 'quad' moving forward 🙌

aloekayeANIME

On your first point I had the same thought I was like I love these two characters but idk if I could be TANJIRO level patient w them all the time lol it's commendable to say the least. And w the intro/outro ty for the update! ✨💫 Tbh I haven't recognized a change in either yet lol but I'll stay on the lookout!!

HalcyonSerenade

No no, "quartet" is the better term, "quad" and "foursome" were wild 😂 Duo -> trio -> quartet

aloekayeANIME

I'm looovinggg this trio 💫✨ (ab to be quad hopefully w Nezuko 🙌). I feel like I'm starting to get a wee bit more of an understanding around some typical character 'tropes' (or maybe 'archetypes' is a better word) in anime. > Like I see a lot of Zenitsu in Stark (although we've seen so much growth and vulnerability/wisdom in Stark I think since we know much more of his storyline that's added to the richness of his character whereas Zenitsu is still new to me who I don't know much about). > I think Tanjiro feels one of a kind > So does Inosuke actually in many ways lol, but Inosuke I feel has a bit of that 'be a man'/'real man' trope I saw in some of the language of Sabito and Giyu at the v beginning It's all just been interesting for me to see/ponder as new characters get unlocked 🔓

aloekayeANIME

OH THIS IS SO COOL!!! I've never heard about the term 'AU' at all, ty for going into this! ✨💫 I felt the same way I think. Loved this new high school skit at the end as a switch up from the Taisho Secrets. I always appreciate how they creatively experiment w new styles and scenes like this, it gives me new perspectives on the show/interrelationships and tbh just made me smile so much seeing this like you said just fun to see our characters in a setting like this. 😊

I'm going to keep this in the forefront of my brain as I keep watching. Still v new to me, but I just can't get over all the different styles Ufotable incorporates into DS and like you said HOW they animate the characters. I've never seen any animation like this (or Frieren for that matter) ever before in my life. And my brother told me this isn't even the best that Demon Slayer can do yet, the show just keeps getting more insane visually. So that has me so excited to keep watching 💫✨🙌

Otaku's Finest

I think Inosuke would be a misunderstanding, exaggerated version of what they were saying. Inosuke is just tough and boar headed for the sake of that being his character. He's not tough in enduring the pain(emotionally) like Giyu said, he's just physically durable and stubborn.
