Aaron is correct though, it's not accidental that I'm telling you you're being schizo. Podcasts are good for analysis, entertainment, and raising money for good causes. Sometimes they can get more bodies out for upcoming events and when possible many pods have encouraged that. Expecting anything more than that is not very grounded. Your comments are pretty pejorative and bad faith also. That there is a left media space with some broad appeal at all is a tremendous achievement.

I disagree with many of the charges being leveled, such as them being CIA assets. They can easily clean their act up. Having on a failed novelist, failed musician, and certifiably insane guy who convinced his physician to give him opiates so he can shit blood and tell his audience he made it to the other side is ridiculous, if I am to be called insane simply for some comments here, Twitter, or elsewhere.

Share me a list of causes they've raised money for, other than their travels, apartments in LA, and now three apartments a piece with gym memberships in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Most of these people live in basements and hardly leave their studies. And good on them. But when they do nothing more than talk shit, I don't need to keep supporting them. They're all in cahoots, and think it's funny to have on losers like Hasan who wasn't even an American citizen afaik, has been trying to become a media personality his whole life, lives in a mansion with his mother, who cooks for him (typical Turkish mama's boy), and sits on his ass clicking tabs on his computer, it's a ridiculous spectacle to behold. That and they're overly critical of anyone who might be smarter or cooler than they are, so they shun them.

They make an episode about Elliott Smith, say, don't kill yourself, and then continue to have on a guy who actively promotes suicide as an answer to your problems and the problems of the world, don't get him any form of help (whatever that may be), and let him languish while he speaks his part, then slinks off to talk about how fucked up he is, how fucked up publishing is, how fucked up the music industry is, how fucked everything else is? Even if he acknowledges he's crazy, I don't know why that's something you would want to associate your principled, anti-pedophile podcast with.

Finkelstein made 18,000/yr for 8 yrs at a tiny college in New York. They made this having no idea it would take off while Brace still worked at a brewery. I say it's been long enough for them to do something more positive, and they don't need to do anymore to convince us JFK was assassinated by elements in the United States Government. It just goes around in circles, and yet they want us to continue paying them for slideshows in Montreal (many people walked out early), merchandise, board games (honestly cool and fun), and then make jokes about being small business owners when they seriously are the people that can make the most difference. Just as Taylor Swift could probably end the war in Gaza right now, but she's too busy profiteering off of every single piece of media property she can. See the resemblance? Albeit at a smaller scale.

Through charity streams Chapo has raised over 100k for Palestinian causes, maybe more for the stuff happening recently, and Hasan raised almost a million dollars for Palestine. (I don't like him or his content tbf, and agree with you in his case). That's a massive amount of money, plus whatever donations they might themselves make. Criticisms of their guests are well and good, plenty of pods also have on organizers (chapo, trillbillies). I'm not sure who you'd like to see on, other than yourself. What else should a podcast do? 5 years to build a niche media contingent is pretty solid. Look how many years it's taken for public opinion to begin to budge on Israel- Palestine. I'm not going to knock someone for not wanting to endanger their career by doing what, calling for armed insurrection? I mean you've described the average listener probably pretty accurately. What type of engagement do you expect from that person?

I have never once said armed insurrection, nor have I ever asked to be on the show. I have tried to contact them personally to demonstrate where they can use their clout and platforms to actually mobilize people. Hasan's do-gooding does nothing to absolve what he's really about. It's quite easy to raise money for a charity when you already have losers watching you that give you money to be some kind of gender fluid, overmuscled dipshit. They made the gamble when they decided to get into this, and I'm sure they can put their shit into equities or Bitcoin or whatever and not be at risk of homelessness (if their parents would ever really let them be homeless). Moreover, if they want to dismantle the systems that make it impossible to live out your values in this country, they also can do that. They've studied the history and they know the lay of the land. They don't. Yet Michael Suicide Judge shared a picture of Aaron Bushnell on fire 50 times, talking about how brave he is, while he sits himself in his mother's house and kills himself slowly with soda, likely some kind of staph infections, pharmaceutical pills, and a wholly sedentary life just so he can get some likes online for his wonderful brain performances. He could take all his fucking money, go to a proper rehab on a Caribbean island, and maybe not wanna die so badly.
