i have a slightly different take here. many pedophiles (who defend themselves) connect their interest in young people to ancient greece and various secret rituals (including also the incestuous history of royal dynasties and the elect status of such sexual practices). so the atmosphere of secrecy and allusion and “mystery” clocks with this. my hunch is that “enigmas never age” refers to a young person/people DJT and Epstein were assaulting the last time they hung out. i also think that DJT did write the note, it just sounds too much like him not to be. so gross.

Although it’s not as juicy, “enigmas never age” reads to me as though Trump is calling Epstein an enigma, given that the poem was a 50th birthday gift and 50 is when you’re traditionally “over the hill” so a reference to aging (or not aging in this case) would make sense. Maybe I’m an idiot though

Eh, I still have 15 min in the episode but I see this episode as more about the recent updates in the case. I said a retrospective, which I think is the wrong word in hindsight. I think more like "an episode/series for a hypothetical person who just learned about Jeffrey Epstein in the year 2025 somehow", mostly because I think it would be interesting to layout the whole thing from square one with all the info we've got. I can totally buy the idea that Trump wrote the birthday card/letter: He loves to be coy. He's theatrical. He 100% imagined the full scene with him and his boy in wingbacks with cigars and brandy, down to the costumes and lighting. The dialogue is pretty corny and nonsensical, even if it was meant to be suave and clever. He was probably incredibly proud of it. I haven't been able to find a pic of the drawing but I'm guessing it's as vaguely lewd as possible. The most low-effort, lazy, female silouette. Like two squiggly lines, the two crescents to indicate boobs, and his name as the bush. No head, no face, no arms, nominal legs. You know, just the important stuff. It seems to me, especially with this coming through such a mainstream paper as WSJ, that this is exactly how Epstein would be utilized were his whole operation one of blackmail. Some theorize that because the BBB has passed and the rich have their tax cuts, and trump has his two terms, perhaps he's reached the end of his usefulness and they're ready to cut the negative externalities in favor of president JD. Which would mean we'll never see "the list" but we may see more on Trump specifically. That birthday book Ghislane put together given the context seems like a very canny move by someone who is familiar with the task at hand, to accumulate incriminating evidence on powerful people in order to gain leverage over them later.
