Reported for slandering the only person based enough to do revolutionary praxis like taking down BenGaetzi with facts and logic. You just hate that he asks real patriotic questions like "do black people know how scary they are?" and "can mexicans claim self defense if we KNOW they're inherently more violent than whites?"

Send in the Jimmy Dore listeners!

Bleepblopp

I’ve Gotta be consistent and call it as I see it.. this time Liz is 100% right. Miley is on iheart radio.

This is the historical revisionism that leads down the red-brown highway 🛣 -(there's literally an 'emoji' for Everything!)

This was amazing! Have him on again

Cool to throw an anti war populist lefties under the bus

Oatmeal

Mintpress is excellent, glad to see this guy on the show. He was great!!

yellowkid

I’m gonna be real disappointed if there isn’t a tucker impersonation from brace in here.

Rusty

It wouldn't have the same effect. In order to do a good Tucker impression, it also has to be a visual experience, aka his 24/7 "taking a particularly hard shit" face.

Jep

“A lot of the reason people tune in is because they’re vaguely mad about something, and they wanna get madder about something.” Definitely describes msnbc/fox viewers, and not me… not one bit…

Brendan Garcia

I heart radio is Clear Channel, they just changed their name.

Matelda

I would like to visit the parallel universe where Jon Stewart never owned him on Crossfire.

Vincent Utah

Wait people aren’t putting the “i” in front of their company’s name anymore? God Utah is like at least 10 years behind on literally everything.

Treppy

is tuckers military 10 years ahead of the u.s.?

Vincent Utah

He’s constantly doing the “humber” face from that analog horror Thalasin commercial.

evan

holy fuck…. scott ritter’s live stream with dan cohen right now on mint press’s youtube….. fuuuuck.

Ben M

nodding along listening to my podcast about things i hate that makes me angry and channels it into nothing but patreon

Friend of Pangolin

Such a great episode. Especially love how it led to a discussion of the problem with media beefs.

So I’m a bit confused, is the debunking/fact checking thing in media getting referenced here as a bad thing? Y’all do know that’s been growing in popularity in the podcast industry as well, right? I mean you’ve had Travis View from QAA on here several times and debunking is his entire career strategy.

evan

cool. I'll keep that in mind while the radiation cloud burns me (and everyone i love) alive.

Robert Booth

I think they are talking more about orgs like media matters and politifact.

bl

the founder of clear channel (now iheartmedia) lowry mays' son-in-law is congressman michael mccaul, top republican on the house foreign affairs committee

Ricky

Anderson Cooper also applied to the CIA. real couple of freaks

evan

never said he was wrong. Ritter deffo is. i'm just saying his arrests & convictions section on wiki is not taking away from his current analysis of the impending nuclear holocaust.

2026-09-09 19:00 Excellent. The best show for some time. I can see parallels with George Orwell. A contrarian who appeal to Lefties and so acts as a safety-valve.

That's what I thought too, but I wasn't willing to do the 2 minutes of research to prove it.

Don Aldin

Hahahaha, now do Red Scare

Don Aldin

“Attention mongering”

Null_null

I don't think that is Travis View's "entire career strategy" at all. And I think they'd be in lockstep with Liz and Brace on the issue of tech companies becoming the only arbiters of truth. There are three iterations of fact checker: the old news and publishing parlance referring the never seen/never bylined editor who literally checks facts in a story; the public facing partisan (usually liberal) asshole who distributes Pinocchios or grades on a "pants on fire" to "fax" spectrum; the algorithm Twitter/Facebook uses to flag all media that isn't corporate. Only the first of these should exist.

Null_null

I hope nobody minds me promoting another person's pod here. The QAA guys are much more interested in the roots of the "fake news" crisis (the self-inflicted decay of institutions) than they are anything related to "fact checking." Not accusing you of slandering them, but I feel obliged to defend them 'cause I absolutely love their show. Anyway, their interview with Marcus Gilroy-Ware is really great and gets to the heart of where they stand on the issue. https://open.spotify.com/episode/53uOk841TXhknMc9Vs2O39?si=7ef5fc1a3432471d

Vincent Utah

Okay that makes more sense. Thanks guys!

This is why I read the Patreon comments

Matthew Webber

Does anyone know the book Brace mentioned near th beginning about catastrophizong eastern Europe and the Soviet Union?

Brendan Garcia

Why does everyone shit on Orwell? I understand he kind of became an anti-communist, or at least anti-Soviet, towards the end; and I know right wingers love to claim him and say, yea he would be on our side, but they do the same thing with Martin Luther King. I still think there’s a lot to recommend in Orwell, if you can separate him from his particular historical context, particularly how important the destruction of language is to the denial of thought and the breaking of resistance.

Tyler Wilson

Would love to know this also. Came to Patreon just to ask lol.

Vincent Utah

Sycophancy on Patreon is fucking weird

i think the huge influence delta between travis view and the likes of politifact are important to consider. also things like podcasts and such--qaa included--debunks post-hoc with freely available info. places like politifact are seeking to **preemptively** filter out whatever information they deem too spicy for public ears, and act as a politically-motivated selective information broker for what info the establishment wants to promulgate, and an info black hole for everything they **don't**.

Can't believe it took this long for Dr. MacLeod to come on the pod

Vincent Utah

^^Agreed. “The Road to Wigan Pier” was by far his best book and doesn’t get enough recognition. It tells a story that actually happened and doesn’t skew history by watering it down and replacing notable figures with anthropomorphized farm animals.

Robyn Pinchen

Great episode, you should definitely talk more about the media and get this.guy on again!

John McElroy

McLeod is a very interesting guest - appreciate this! 👍🏼

Brendan Garcia

Animal Farm is bizarre, frankly. I’ll give you that. 1984 though is much better than the way it’s taught. Also not sure how you could read Down and Out In Paris and London and conclude that he was contemptuous of working people. Bemused perhaps, but undoubtedly sympathetic.

Bent Mind

Liz. Brace. Can you tell Alan I’d like his take on Sean Penn?

BryceSprungstein

There seem to be a lot of right wing 'populists' with weird connections to various intelligence agencies who all hate the deep state and interventionism.....except for China

Never stop with “kerfluffle”

I actually work on a horse ranch, in nevada, 23 horses, wild/abused who need help, 5 dogs, 4 cats, and 5-10 chickens (I don't look after them chickies)

2026-09-09 19:00 Liz, Brace, when are you going to do a podcast on George Orwell? There's more than enough material.
2022-03-05 21:56

Garen King

Brace and Liz would actually be great guests on several iHeartRadio podcasts.

AJK

Tucker recently brought the Nicaragua topic up again in an interview with Professor Dan Kovalik. He claims he was “just messing around” in Nicaragua during the contra war. It is on an episode of “Tucker Carlson Today” on Fox Nation.

Brendan Garcia

Have you read Down and Out? The whole first half is about working in, and alongside the other workers of, hotels/restaurants in Paris. Are those not working people? Yea, the second half is about English hobos, but to say that’s what the book is “about” disregards the rest of the book.

Professor Jokes

One of the most interesting things the Russian invasion has shown us is that Liz is way smarter than be and it's obviously his handler. Great content

Alasdair Clarkson

I have an extremely strong yet soft on detail memory of reading a long story about a South American scammer who had ripped off a bunch of the DC elite including Tucker Carlson's parents. I have looked over and over again and asked around and have not been able to find it. Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about?

x

Connecting the dots for you all, I just wanted to mention that Alec Baldwin has a podcast on i heart radio. It's a true crime format about ART. Not gonna listen.

lolwuthappend

Did they say Maddow and Carlson went on vacation together? Any evidence for that, or for the claim that they're friends irl?

Brendan Garcia

I take your point as well, but I guess maybe what I’m trying to say is that maybe one SHOULD NOT read all of his stuff. Or if you don’t like some of what he wrote, set it aside. Like maybe you can read Down and Out or 1984 and some of his essays, judge them on their own merits, and find something worthwhile and genuinely liberatory in them. He, like most people, was undoubtedly complex. One need (should) not read all of his correspondence and say, “ah yes, but in a letter he wrote to Cyril Pilkingtonsworth in 1937, you’ll see that he identified as socdem and wrote disparagingly of Stalin.” I feel like that’s the same trap as scrolling through a musician or director’s Twitter to see if they’ve ever used the R-slur so that you can cancel them and throw away their dvds.

Brian Stodola

It's a bit ironic that Tucker Carlson stole Jon Stewart's shtick of being a guy on TV mocking 'the media'

Benjamin Abell

I heart Radio is the company formerly known as Clear Channel

Elephants On Coke

As someone who grew up in high school learning Orwell was this anti-authoritarian leftist vanguard and his books were required reading, I second this!

Dan

I was never certain how many people actually watched Schitts Creek. Viewership for streaming services is already a tightly-guarded secret, and I have no idea how many people even use Canada's free CBC gem service. I always figured that Schitts Creek was a critically- acclaimed astro-turfed show that no one really watched. If you've heard of it south of the border, maybe it has a greater viewership. I'm always surprised at the proliferation of Canadian programming beyond our borders.

Re: the Brittany Spears clip, when I first saw it in 2004, I thought she was dumb for taking that stance; now I think that she was, at the very least, trying not to get Dixie Chicked (or worse).

Matt Pierce

I really hope you guys might consider unlocking this episode in the relatively near future. Tons of goofy libertarian types I'd like to give it to lol.

Stinkamus

I feel this way about most episodes haha

Natalie

iHeartMedia to be exact, but yes it's a rebrand of the massive Clear Channel network.

Bryson Martinez

It's been a few days I'm still upset with you trueanon podcast for juking me on my first place post. 😑 you son of a bitch.

Trixie

Can anyone tell me the number of the original gourmand episode? I've been wanting to play it for my boyfriend but I CANT find it and don't have time to scrub through the first 15 episodes haha

Trixie

Hello person with the same last name

Trixie

Omg thank you so much

Lettuce Jones

I always knew Tucker was a fraud but god damn there is so much in this episode I never even heard about!

John McElroy

YouTube has just deleted @TheOliverStone and @lopatonok's critically acclaimed documentary "Ukraine on Fire" on the US-engineered 2014 coup, and much more. Wonder why!

Damien R

your mom likes it though

Natalie

this is a wild fucking ride from the first second to the last

Natalie

if you plan to unlock an episode in the future, this is a great contender. a lot of good points made (like the bit on how short twitter character limits prevent long form discussions) and tons of info you wouldn't find unless you started with some deep knowledge or digging.

Patrick Burke

Another great episode gang! Informative as hell, agree with above, I would share if I could
