Pop Step cant catch a break! after credit scene last ep Koichi told her that his mom believed he had a girlfriend and he was worried about what to do. So she left, made herself up, and came back likely intending to pretend to be his girlfriend. But Koichi had already brought in Makoto... poor girl man..

You know, I don't think there's any character in the MHA setting I dislike as much as Koichi's mom. Even if she meant well, I really dislike how she treated him. Getting to see what his quirk is actually capable of is always a treat. In episode 1, it was about as fast as a bicycle, and yet now he was able to catch up to a speeding bus with it. That's not even touching on his ability to propel himself through the air. Also, to my understanding, the cat's quirk (monster cat) gave it powers related to Japanese mythology regarding nekomata, along with maybe being a reference to My Neighbor Totoro. That allowed it to kind of possess the bus but it wasn't really the bus either, which is why removing the door didn't seem to hurt it.

Well she left saying it's a stupid lie, I guess he didn't think he could count on her.

I’m watching the dub of this, and Makoto and Kuichi’s mom said something else when Knuckleduster walked in 😶

They both need to watch Frieren and learn that people won't know how you feel unless you tell them.

That's how my generation was raised: smacked around for our own good! She went too far from what we've seen but in a moment of panic, the first time her baby started flying, a short, sharp shock, as it was called, was probably her falling back on the way she had been raised to find the quickest solution to stop her child flying off to who-knows-where? Koichi has no older siblings that I know of so he's her first child, still a baby. She's probably feeling inadequate as a parent and wondering if she's up to the task, as most parents do for the first little while (there's no shame in that), and then he started flying and was beyond her reach before she knew it, so she slapped him down out of fear. I think it's understandable and probably the best thing she could have done... that first time. It's a worry that she still hasn't found a better way of dealing with Koichi after all these years, though. Ah well, it's just a manga/anime. Still, it's not trying to represent real life... but if it was real life she'd be right out of order! innit? I did find it hilarious when Koichi's mother was slapping him down as he was trying to be a hero in public. Oh, the cringeworthy comedy of dragging up emarrassing memories LOL. I'm shuddering right now!

I love how Knuckleduster tells the mother that the best a parent can do for their children is teach them how to fall safely. Remember the first thing he taught Koichi? Yeah, it was how to fall safely (into piles of trash). This show is really smart in how detailed it all is. They really thought things through.

I didn't think about it but seeing Makoto be touchy feely with Knuckleduster, she was looking for cheeky information with her quirk. That's hilarious.
