β making cute clay pins! ππ πβ (Patreon)

finally got around to putting supplies I purchased several years ago to good use by turning them into clay pins! I really put better late than never to the test. <3 I followed paloma the peach's tutorial, tho I ended up using acrylic paint instead of acryla gouache since it's what I had. :3 and I don't plan on coating them since that's just not a step I want to do rn and that's fine. <3
my original idea was to turn them into pins, but then I thought they'd make adorable magnets as well and now I'm torn. not pictured is me squealing "SOOO CUUUTE!!!!!" after holding them up against the fridge and laying them on my bag to see which I preferred. what do you guys think? pins or magnets? π€ I need help deciding!
changes I'd make next time:
using a knife to cut out the clay shapes. in one of my stranger decisions, I opted to 'punch out' the shapes with the end of a chopstick, which was not only tedious, but also wildly inaccurate. <3 also made the shaping/smoothing harder! L's all the way down.
mocking up the colors and designs before I start painting. it would have been sooo handy for me to have a reference as I painted, so I wouldn't have to cook up a design on top of already mixing colors and painting. I think that's why the two oval shapes turned out lackluster, since I was trying to come up with ideas on the spot after having churned out 3 other designs.
