a crafty time in my life ๐ถ๐งถ๐; (knitting a baby blanket, clay fish, and big art!) (Patreon)

I cleaned up an old gouache painting from awhile ago by layering it with oil pastels and fully got lost in the process. I always forget how fun it is to make art at larger sizes! I found it super meditative and chill to slowly scribble and blend colors on a large piece of paper. it also feels strangely forgiving, as if mistakes come out in the wash of the expanse of canvas.
a family member is welcoming their first child and I thought it'd be fun (oh the beautiful optimism of the amateur) to knit them a baby blanket! mind you this is my first ever knitting project and it's incredible how long it's taking me (the woman in the youtube tutorial said it could be finished in a weekend and that's very encouraging of her but also she's a liar). the amount of times I've had to restart this project...it would make you laugh, but I'm determined to finish it (I'm almost halfway!). I think the basket weave pattern is beautiful, the yarn I chose is soft 'n comfy, and.....I hope the baby likes it!
I've also been working on my pledge to make all my friends a fish magnet for Christmas! I'm trying to make them using each person's favorite colors. here's my progress so far. I have several more to make so fingers crossed that I finish in time! I've been working on these during clay days with a couple friends, so it's a fun way to make art and hangout together! ๐
