Excited to watch!

Love the house? Is that were you stayed?

Anthony Johnston

Not the most exciting FPL, but a much-needed & appreciated message. Glad you enjoyed Ireland & GenCon, PDM. I'm anxiously waiting for the video w/ updated Deathbringer KS or timeline info....

Timothy Kesling

Nicely done. We are actually having a mini game day at my house. Politic discussions have been a problem in the past. Instead of quashing them totally as we have done in the past, we’ll have a tent with chairs away from the gaming area where those inclined can bloviate without offending the masses. Have a safe trip home!

I like Dungeon and Discourse and that she pulls the curtain down hiding the evil wizard WoTC and Games Workshop. She shows the BS that both companies are trying to pull over the customers. We had a game get ruined by politics in our group during the T Vs.C election and some things still aren’t right. Hate is way more of an emotional driver than people give it credit. We have a no real political discourse at the table now. Thanks for trying to make it just a game space.

Anthony Johnston

BTW, I like Discourse & am glad you two were able to meet up in Belfast. I appreciate her calling out the predatory practices of the Big Boys & trying to hold them accountable. Click baity for sure, but thats just part of getting views on Youtube these days & virtually everyone is guilty to an extent.

MrGunn

Dear Professor: I thought this Front Porch Lecture was excellent. Your insights and views were very thought provoking. I will be doing some self-reflection as a result. I am glad you had a good time and that you had a chance to meet Discourse and some fellow patrons. Looking forward to you next video. Best regards, MrGunn

Thanks for the FPL and updates. You continue to be my favorite content creator in the biz and I especially appreciate your words on using games to bring us together and leaving the more decisive talking points alone. Have a safe trip home!

Sibling channels from across the pond!

'I don't want it to be all about commerce' that was my impression when I met you Dan. You're family first, people first. It's about the flesh and blood people across the table

Graham Kane

Glad you enjoyed your trip to our little island! Thanks for the shout out PDM, it was a great privilege to meet, chat and play a game with you and your friends and family.

Steven Sweet

Thanks for the positive position.

Frederic Schmitt

Thank you for sharing this with us. Thank you for thanking time during your vacation to make a video for us 🥹👍

Masterhit

Good for you keeping the collectivists, reductionists, and whatever other *ists from polluting things. Many of those debates need to be had, but not *everywhere* and certainly not here.

Jay

PDM, you certainly picked a very nice spot to do the video. It must be beautiful there. Your message is also a good one. I also prefer this channel when it covers gaming, crafting, bring people together, sharing positive ideas, and inspirational discourse. Sadly, these days it seems politics has been injected into just about everything which makes it difficult for many not to discuss when we are constantly bombarded with everywhere we turn. However, I am in complete agreement that it should be avoided whenever possible and calls to violence or sowing the seeds to propagate it should be avoided. Thanks again for being the voice of well grounded reasoning. Enjoy your trip and stay safe.

Does Deathbringer drink Guinness? Inquiring minds want to know!

Love the thumb nail. "It looks the way all Irish cottages should and so seldom do."

GegaHub

Best background yet! I kept expecting/hoping an equipped adventuring party would walk by in the background... alas, it was not to be.

samurguybri

I hope you found good company and beautiful sights while you were there. Did you get any gaming inspiration or ideas while there? Many thanks for your positive, peaceful approach to politics and responding to the convoluted situations arising from it.

I work at a school and we sometimes use a play system called Healthy Play. One of the rules is” If you want to argue step out of the game with the person who wants to argue with you. Come back when you’re ready to play” It really helps keep people who want to argue from holding a game hostage. Sounds like you have a similar idea.

I hope you had a great time in Ireland! One of the reasons I joined your Patreon was because I noticed a political comment got deleted from one of your video discussions. I really appreciate that you keep your channel non-political—it's a breath of fresh air! I'm quite political myself, but when I tune in to your content, I'm here for TTRPGs, not to get caught up in political drama, even if I agree with the views. So, thanks for keeping it about the games and not the discourse! well except for Dungeons and Discourse she can stay.

SJBehindtheScreen

I stopped following (and using at all) gaming creators on Twitter because of politics. Some of those folks made/make games I really liked, but they just couldn't stop making all kinds of inflammatory comments on US and world politics. It didn't matter if I agreed with them or not, I'm here for the games and am glad you feel the same, PDM. I'm headed to Scotland myself next week and expect to come back re-inspired for gaming energy!

Jared Davis

I enjoyed your message. I hope you enjoyed Ireland and had many memorable experiences. Best of luck with your health. May your rolls—and those of your physicians—always be 20s!

ca. 3:10 I go with "the difference between she and me" because (in German) the preposition between takes the dative case. I think in English, that is the objective case, and if it is, my logic holds (assuming prepositions in English are always followed by specific cases. I think "she and I" would be nominative case (in German), which I assume would be the same in English. I'm a native US English-speaker (Indiana), and am old enough to have been schooled in the fine art of sentence diagramming (which I hated, and it actually only made sense as a useful activity once I learned German). With all that blathering said, when speaking off the cuff I will often say "she and I." If you have a definitive answer, I'd be happy to know, because that is the sort of thing that drives my ADHD brain crazy.
