Knave 2E/Maze Rats, yep. EZD6, yep. And as others have said ICRPG. Personally, big fan of White Box: FMAG and have recently added to the list Outgunned and the Warlock/Warpstar games.

Deathbringer will surpass them all, no doubt. Glad to hear Fate of the Norns get a shout out. Can't get behind any games with automatic hitting mechanics, sorry. Cuts out too much good tension & drama.

Thanks for all the great recos! Ragnarok looks like a beautiful game. I remember playing the West End SW game years ago - and it was a lot of fun. I also love Exploding dice!! It's no longer in print, but I enjoyed Earthdawn by FASA. It was high fantasy and used 'dice step' mechanics. Really interesting world build.

Dear Professor & Baron, Fun video, I agree, EZD6 is great. I have played with DMScotty twice at Mythic Con, such a great guy. Shadowdark and ICRPG, should have gotten mentions, but there are so many great games to choose from these days. In the 80s there was not nearly the vast number of choices we have today. It is very frustrating when I hear folks won't play anything but D&D 5e, which is why I love your channel, I have been introduced to so many great games. D&D is the Domino's pizza of games, it is familiar and consistent and tastes ok, but it ain't all that great. Folks need to try different things, like that burger joint in the bowling alley, that diner on the corner or the ramen shop across the street, don't limit your experiences, try different things, so many great selections. Lots of questions here. We don't think Shadowdark or ICRPG are underrated. They have big followings. PAGE was great. I think I had Ron, the organizer on a video recently. He stopped by my house. My prediction is PAGE gets bigger and bigger.

ICRPG has a huge following. I don't think it's underrated. HOWEVER...I may review the new Monster Manual. If I do, I will compare the stat blocks to the MUCH easier stat blocks of ICRPG.

WEG Star Wars is for sure one of my favourite all time RPG’s - not only is it influential in rpg design but also in creating the lore that is still used today

Hey so this is technically off topic but it’s related to another post here on Patreon and unsure if you’d see it or not since it’s old? 🤷🏼‍♂️ PDM, what is your opinion on XDM 2e vs 1e? Should get 2e or pay the high price for 1e?

It's a bummer that the YT views aren't there but this video and the one w Baron are exactly the reason I subscribe and patreon your channel. Keep it up! I think there's still some momentum toward d&d alternative games going forward.
