Thank you! Your vids are pure gold and I have been waiting for a “live session” style vid. I just ran my players in the 0 level funnel based around the same concept of your shattered empire campaign and we all had more fun than we had in a while. 5E was a nice step back to rpg roots for D&D but there was just something absurdly fun about stripping it down further to brilliant simplicity. So again... THANK YOU

Blaine McNutt

First, thank you for taking the time and thank your table for being willing to share. Second, does the DC 12 apply to the PCs as well? Or do they have their own DCs based on their armor, etc. I assume so the way they were protecting the wizards.

Robert DeLuca

That was great, I love the simultaneous rolling... it adds to the tension and action for sure. Failure was hilarious.

Thrall

Yeah this was cool to watch. It’s always nice to get to see other people’s table in action.

Martin

Is that Darkest Dungeon in the background? Thanks for sharing.

Jay

This was great! So happy your players agreed to participate in these videos. Not only was it fun to watch but also cleared up several questions regarding game play. Thanks to everyone invovled.

Thomas Skidmore

Thanks for the vid of the combat but would have been really helpful to see the rolls as they were being made to make the play by play easier to understand and follow.

Craig Bartlett

I'm just jealous that you have adult players! lol

Steven

Great to watch your game. It shows a side from the years and organization skills you have, the way you run a game in not that much different then the rest of us. It shows me Im on the right track.

I really enjoyed your video. I was able to see that my interpretation of simultaneous initiative matches what you’ve been doing. My players seem to really like it because everyone is constantly involved instead of waiting for a turn. It feels more like a real fight with things happening simultaneously. The one addition I’ve made is to have initiative modifiers determine whose action occurred first if damage would kill or incapacitate a PC or opponent. I use 5e Hardcore Mode’s CR system for the stat block of the “monsters.”
