This was my first movie I saw when movie theaters started reopening due to Covid-19. Also first movie I saw in 4DX which added a chilly affect. The movie was disappointing. Logan is the true ending to the Fox's X-Men franchise, for me.

This was the first Marvel movie I did NOT see in theater. I saw it when it came to streaming. It was okay- I suspect it's uneven because of delays, Covid and Fox selling the X-Men rights back to Marvel. Anya Taylor Joy gave a masterful performance as Magik. I agree that she should be in Doomsday. Masie Williams was also good as Rahne Sinclair (in the comics she's devout in faith, but she's Scottish and Presbyterian- she's Catholic here). Blu Hunt was okay as Dani, but not strong enough in my opinion to be the focus. And the boys got short shrift. It was all over the place because they had five characters to introduce, give backstories to and demonstrate powers while keeping things moving. The final battle was visually great- Demon Bear looked amazing! I liked the comic version better though- it was a separate entity and not a literal figment of Dani's imagination. And we got Lockheed! I wonder if Coy agrees with this. The Fox Marvel depiction of New Mutants is what they would have looked like if the Ultimate universe had done a series on them in the comics- darker backstories and more sordid interactions. I was set to hate on Dani and Rahne falling in love instead of the close-as-sisters relationship they had in the comics, but their chemistry made their romance believable. They tried to connect it to Laura and her friends from Logan, but with no further Fox Marvel movies, the effort went to waste. Still better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine though :-)

Wait are you skipping over the Fantastic 4 movies with Jessica Alba? Cause I mean Johnny is in DP&ForkHands soooo, I’m just curious?

To be fair while Road to Doomsday is starting, this is the end of the X-Men run given the X-Men coming to Doomsday. Johnny isn't a huge role in DP & W. And for that matter we didn't cover Blade, Daredevil or Elektra either. - PLD

This was my first time watching. Wasn’t a bad film but it kinda just lacked purpose? As a southerner, I didn’t care for Charlie Heaton’s accent, felt a bit obvious that it wasn’t natural but he did great otherwise BRING ANYA TAYLOR JOY BACK
