This literally reminds me of squid games but I genuinely don’t see the hype on this franchise, from 1-10 how much do yall like it?😅

C. J. Ramirez

This is how squid games got the idea

I see yeah but the way it’s set up or the way the games are, I simply don’t find interesting. Idk it’s just me obviously

Just so you know Haymitch is their mentor because he won the games when he was 16 which is why he was an alcoholic. And he doesn’t gain money of the tributes win and he does go back to district 12 after the games. The reason he stopped drinking is because he actually started to care what happened with Katniss and Peeta. The reason he didn’t before his because he has already mentore 46 kids to their death before Katniss and Peeta so he kind of gave up with even trying. Until he realized there is actually a shot. And at the end when Haymitch told Katniss that the capital doesn’t take these things lightly and she should be afraid he was talking about the capital taking it out on people she loves. When victors are to rebellious the capital kills their family or tortures them which is why Haymitch is so scared. There is a reason why Haymitch is an alcoholic and has no one bride Peeta and Katniss which is why he stoped drinking to help them because in the first time in like 24 years he had hope.

Just to let you know this is not Jennifer Lawrence first film, but it’s the first time that Jennifer Lawrence led a franchise. She was actually nominated for her first Oscar for Best Actress for an independent film called Winter’s Bone two years before The Hunger Games at age 20.

It's definitely become very apparent that Jackie and Paige have dominated a lot of the different uploads, which is pretty good since I find their reaction style to be very balanced. Sometimes they'll miss plot details because they talk over key dialogue, but that tends to happen for reactions and it's never constant. Though I have to wonder..did they just not watch any movies ever in the past? Lol I'm joking but some of these movies were very big deals

I highly recommend two other films directed by the Hunger Games first director, Gary Ross: Pleasantville and Seabiscuit.

Hi Jackie and Paige! Glad you liked it. And ignore all the haters, choose whichever Team you prefer. Also, if you are hoping for more of the world to be explained, you will be disappointed. Most of that information did not make it to the movie. If you want to know more, I'd recommend checking out the books once you're done with the movie. If you are interested in similar movies that this drew inspiration from, I recommend checking out Battle Royale and The Running Man, both book and movie. I'm guessing you only heard part of that JLaw interview, because she was in a few movies before Hunger Games including X-Men First Class and Winter's Bone, which she got an Oscar nomination for.

The reaction was fun. My old ears have to crank up the volume pretty high to make out the film audio, and when Paige and Jackie started whistling my eardrums exploded.

This franchise is great! Sad at times, but great. Rue's death broke me even though I knew it would probably happen. She was too young and too innocent to survive the games. I wouldn't last long if I got thrown in there. My big strategy would be to hide and hope the others all killed each other. My special skill is being good at dodgeball when I was that age- maybe that would have helped me dodge thrown knives and arrows :-).

Peeta actually purposely burned that bread, his mother beat him for it, and had him give it to the pigs but to make it look like he wasn't given to her he had to throw it on the ground like he was just discarding it. The book explains this better.
