CALIGO PT.1 MY BELOVED! Before i talk about the reaction: PD you do have an album/EP left to react to and it PLBBUU (which has the tracks BBUU!, Hide And Seek, Bongsoong-a)! So pls make sure to check that one out as well since you liked BBUU during your award reactions to them. now back to caligo pt.1: IT IS SOOOO GOOD- Chroma Drift probably my fave track from that album and gosh i loved when they did night drive live streams (with fully rendered city, lights and everything) to really set the mood with the song and each song is so special in its own right that i am so baffled that they are all on the same album- Funfact for 12:32 (A to T): A refers to Asterum (their world) and T to Terra (aka our earth) and 12:32 refers to the time 12:32am in which according to them it’s the magical time in which our skies align and we can see each other. but yes i am so glad you really liked this album! and i can‘t wait to witness caligo pt. 2 with you! (pls as the other person mentioned watch the dash mv before you watch the caligo pt.2 mv so you get the whole storyline)

Caligo Pt 1 is probably one of the best mini-albums out of the fifth gen and overall that I've heard in a long time. Every song, they showcase their vocals and it's something sorely lacking in the industry. I've had Island on repeat since it first came out and I'm still not sick of it. It just gives me all I'm looking for. Vocals, melodies, harmonies, Bamby 🤣

Man I love this album, thank you for checking it out! If I made a top 10 list of my all time favourite PLAVE songs this album would fill almost half the list on its own. I totally agree with what you said about them sanding off the rough edges production-wise for this one, and that the early songs have their own homespun charm about them, but my first thought when hearing this album was that they'd leveled up. I remember a notice from the VLAST CEO in late 2024 saying they were delaying this comeback till early 2025 and so I think the extra time (maybe 8 or 12 weeks) that they got to work on it for really enabled them to polish everything to a high sheen (and I'm glad both the company and the members understand nothing good comes of rushing things). Expectations are set quite high for Pt 2 and I'm nervous but in a good way! I really can't wait :) BTW I said it before and I'll say it again (and I know it's because like you said you have no attachment to these guys and/or probably no real interest in forming one, which is fine) but do yourself a favour and watch the DASH MV before the comeback. I have mentioned it before but now I formally implore you lol. IIRC the members saw the rough storyboard for the MV, went away and wrote DASH to match the intensity of what they saw, and the rest goes down in history. I just think the visuals are gonna put it over the top for you.

hi Pd-nim, thank you so much for reacting to caligo pt 1. this album is one of/my favourite of theirs as well. i got a membership for your patreon because i saw you had reaction videos to plave and bts. Personally, their songs/lyrics/concepts are my favourite in the industry. after watching you on YouTube for more than 5 years now, i really enjoy your insights. you always seem to grasp messages and the purpose of a song so quickly, which made me curious about you take on bts and plave new songs. i think plave songs in general are so good. every album just gets better. for island, the song gets even better if you watch the music video. the video changes from black and white to a coloured one which i thought resonated beautifully with the lyrics. plave stood out to me because of their authenticity and production. from choreography to songs everything is self-produced. i especially love their vocals! even the rap-line have really good vocals. that being said, I will be watching all of your plave videos as well as more bts videos too. once again thank you for insightful remarks and pov!

my ranking of the album! 1. Dash 2. Island 3. 12.32 4. Chroma drift 5. Rizz Dash blew my mind off the first listen. it was my first proper comeback of the group and i was taken aback pleasantly. even my friends who aren't into plave loved that song, similar to you! Island and 12.32 are songs more of my style, as i usually prefer to have melodic lyrically focused songs on my playlist. Rizz and chroma drift are genres i have never really explored previously, but im glad they made it. it really is pretty and unique.

Omg you captured my thought even better than I could about calico pt. 1 I also heard this album while being a non-fan and had just started to dip my toes into the discography so when I heard this album and Island in particular I was blown away. This album has been on repeat since I first heard it a year ago. I also agree this album seems more polished and not in a way where plave looses their musical color but the polishing just enhances their musical flavor even more. Thank you for checking them out I hope you keep enjoying them in the future.
