Hotline is my fav in this EP. Im so glad they performed it live on soundbomb360. I hope they promote it more. I feel like its going to be one of their underrated bangers

I’m also a big Hotline and Sakura-iro Yell fan! A few thoughts on We on Fire: - the choreo elevates it (and also Bewitched) a lot for me. The studio choom vid is shot well if you have time to watch it on your own. - they also released a Days of Youth ver of the song on streaming yesterday. I feel like the instrumentation complements the melody a lot better, and I will prob stream this version much more frequently than the original. However, it does have some incongruity with the “still a fire burns in me” feel of lyrics though, so I’m still torn on this song.

thank you for reacting to this album! ngl We On Fire gave me lukewarm vibes too even though it was still a great song, but their album was amazing per usual - i think &Team's discography is just so superior

Although I liked WoF since the first listen (the song) i agree that you can compare it to any of their previous releases. Sakura iro yell was released during graduation season, 100% agree with the Japanese sound! I still hope you can watch some performances tho, &team just elevates any song with their performances

Thank you so much for reviewing &Team’s We on fire EP. And thank you for your honesty. I love &Team and also want them to thrive and grow, so I welcome any constructive criticism. I actually agreed with a lot of your points. We on fire song is not bad, it is catchy and I did initially like it at first, but I agree that it’s not very strong compared to their previous title tracks especially as a Japanese/soma genda release. Tbh, I also started to not like the song as much anymore once I started listening to it w/o the MV visuals. I also agree that it doesn’t really give a “we’re on fire” feeling. Got some ideas from CCTV’s video (https://youtu.be/iEW9I8_7XmA?si=f3QeXuwhBEKqwM93 ). I wished they could have done a gang vocal/group chant to make the song more powerful. In fact, i hope that &Team will incorporate more group singing/harmonies in future releases (and do harmonies live), especially since they have “team” in their name so they should show their teamwork through their singing as well and I think it would also add to their wolf pack concept. Unfortunately this is also their weakest title track choreography imo. It’s not bad and the members do perform it well, but it’s lackluster compared to their previous title track choreographies (even Back to Life dance is better than this). It’s a bit bland and repetitive and watching it made me realize how repetitive the song really is (and makes me start disliking the song). Again, nothing about this dance gives me the feeling that they’re on fire and it doesn’t make me want to watch them perform it over and over. (Sorry &Team! Just have high expectations when it comes to their performance/dance.) They did release a We on fire (days of youth) version that I liked a little bit more and it kinda reminds me of their 4 seasons sound (https://youtu.be/pSxhUNc_h1w?si=EvjtK6-cBwcBFy7u). I loved Bewitched. Definitely one of the more better tracks out of this EP for me and should have been the title track. I especially loved the choreography, which is also a lot better than WoF choreography. Just wished that it was longer! Loved your ideas on what could have been done to add to the song especially longer bridge ideas. Hotline is pretty fun. I’m personally not really into the upbeat/jpop-y like sound, but it’s a nice song for the summer and whenever they do an encore. I really liked Sakura Iro Yell. So beautiful and gives peaceful nature vibes. Just wished it had more harmonies. Maybe even harmonized falsettos in the end/final chorus. Overall, my favorites from this EP are Bewitched and Sakura Iro Yell. I agree with you that this EP is not terrible, but it does feel rushed and not up to standard for &Team. The declining quality/lack of growth is also getting concerning. I really liked your idea on having &Team do dual/double title track releases. I think it would also be on brand for &team if they do that since a werewolf has 2 sides (wolf and human). They can release a dark/edgy rock sound track that represents their “wolf/werewolf” side (songs like war cry, deer Hunter, road not taken, scar to scar…) and sentimental/nostalgia pop/pop rock sound track that represents their “human” side (songs like drop kick, firework, 4 seasons TTs…). This could also help please fans/listeners since there those who prefer &Teams’s 4 seasons sound and those who prefer dark/powerful sound.
