To add to your "pacifist" comment at the end; how I understood it, it's not about facing yourself. It's actually the opposte. If they have to fight against themselves there is a big chance they won't win, BUT if they work in team with others AKA those who may be stronger or have other magic that works well against theirs (winkwonk the next eps) they CAN win. Tldr: the pacifism is requiring all of them to work together to beat the replicas and form unity > selfishness to go in alone (like that blonde guy xD).
