SO been looking forward to this, can't wait for the LP! The b side Video Game has a performance from her showcase and Mushroom Live if you get intrigued after listening later:)

ethan

Also another comeback you've missed is BBGIRLS(Brave Girls) debut with One More Time. They sampled Give It To Me Baby by Rick James which I'm sure you're familiar with, and the track is GROOVY!

ethan

Haseul sorta debuted?? She released a single called Plastic Candy but hasn't done an MV or any promotions besides a Music Studio 81.8Hz performance

Haseul's solo song is already out! It's called Plastic Candy. Though it's not really a proper comeback, it's just a digital single without a music video. So instead here's a live performance from Haseul's solo concert: https://youtu.be/wYSj0Cxw2r4 And ARTMS have released The Carol 3.0 as a 5 member group. Basically a remake of the christmas song from the predebut days: https://youtu.be/6O7eq19FHJ8 ARTMS are also set to debut properly with a mini album called DALL early next year!

I wish more idols from groups had cameos from their members in their solo mvs, not do the dance or whatever but just there haha so fun

Form of Therapy

I think most groups THRIVE on that independence because by the time they are going solo they'd been doing group stuff for like 7+ years and really want to try something on their own. I think both LOONA members and the fandom can all say "yeah no, we weren't ready for this sh!t to end" and it shows through the way MODHAUS is marketing them. I mean even look at LOOSSEMBLE! The love these girls all have for each other, especially born out of the rollercoaster ride of the past few years, I think has only made it deeper.

pmreez

Oh of course! I think the whole LOONA situation just made me emotional when I first saw them in the vid, so it definitely has a purpose and impact here. After watching so much media in today's landscape it's easy to want to be that Leo DiCaprio meme and seeing references haha

Marcel Wannieck

Btw, you got the story of the MV pretty spot on. Iirc Heejin herself said that it's a story about a princess who wants to break free from the confines of her castle and fulfill her dreams of becoming an idol

Haseul had a 3 (or 4 days?) solo concert Music Studio 81.8Hz, even though it is not online, there are the behind the scenes in artms youtube channel (part1, covering days 1 and 2 is out, prob part 2 will be released soon). Also, this is a master piece, my type of songs, I can repeat this only song on loop so many times (like XG's New Dance... :)

Also, is it me or I saw a tiny bit of Vivid choreo? with her hands. And this might be even less likely, but also a tiiiny bit of tripleS choreo? prob Generation (ofc not like tripleS has a signature move), but maybe coincidence or of course same Modhaus choreo trainers/teachers.

Edward Lee

The song was very catchy and extremely listenable....nothing out there at all. Seems like Jaden Jeong is sticking to a tried and true formula and using relatable/recognizable sounds for the LOONA girls (Odd Eye Circle's comeback DEFINITELY sounded like an OEC song) and using their existing popularity/fandom to carry them through (and maybe slightly rushed? Who knows if they spoke with each other before the girls were freed from their contract from BBC but it was lightning speed from the court ruling to signing with ARTMS to releasing songs)....hope the strategy works. The inverse seems to be the case with the LOOSEMBLE girls.....their debut was definitely a totally different sound. It is kind of interesting that ARTMS has 2 different arms going at the same time (Triple S and former LOONA) so it'll be interesting to see how each progresses.

Yeah there was a little bit of Vivid influence in the choreo

Alex

My favorite k-pop song of 2024! So happy you liked it 🌟

I feel like heejins solo fits her so much. And I’m sure you’ll love Haseul’s digital single “Plastic Candy”. It’s a city pop inspired song written by Haseul herself
