i honestly don’t focus on lyrics a lot but the lyrics to howl will always get me, especially reflecting on loona and how much chuu went through

Christina M Villa

I knew I was going to love Chuu's solo, but I didn't expect it to resonate with me as much as it did. For me the two songs and videos are about her struggle last year when BBC began their attacks on her and how she struggled with that publicly and privately. Also, her subscribers for Chuu can do it are Chukumi, but she now has her own fandom name Kkoti, which means "flower house" derived from both Korean and Finnish. It protects blooming flowers.

Christian Oettl

I never expected to prefer Chuus music the most out of the Loona restart/redebuts, but the whole album I really liked. I know I kinda expected more things like Heart Attack and generally more cutesy, but damn she surprised me in the best kind of way

Julianne

I've never paid too much attention to Loona, but Chuu's solo album (and definitely the whole album) was such a killer and took me by surprise. I checked it out with no context or expectations, and it definitely became an album I played on repeat the last few months.

Howl is such an amazing song. From the lyrics to the song itself, just everything about this debut is phenomenal.

I'm just coming back from a Lorna Shore concert where I got to witness a demon-possessed Will Ramos scream his soul out. So to have Chuu's heavenly voice right now is such tonal whiplash 😂 Honestly, Chuu's album is my second favourite post-Loona project right after Loossemble. Especially one song, Aliens, immediately shot up into the top 5 of all my favourite Loona songs. While part of me is a bit sad that Loona is broken up right now, I've also been wanting more solos and new subunits for a long time! And the girls are much happier now as well which makes me a happy Orbit :)

Jinyatta

Howl is my favorite of the 2. I don't know, but at least the subbed lyrics sounded very personal, almost like they were her diary entries during the time she had all that negative stuff whirling around her.

Marcel Wannieck

Good catch with the horns in Chuu's shadow. I interpret it as a metaphor about how BBC tried (and failed) to portray her as some kind of verbally abusive villain. But then you actually look at her directly and it's pretty obvious that's just not true

Otto

My favorite from the album is "Aliens"

DTruth

I love Howl especially the lyrics. The monsters in the MV are both representing two different sides of Chuu but also her fans. So it's just so much more emotional because she is kinda singing to herself or to the listener. By the way her fans are called Kkotti. Her YouTube channel subscribers are called chuugummies.

I find fascinating how [Howl] & [K], being both Chuu & Heejin 1st Ep, are so opposite to each other and represent 2 faces of the same piece that what can be a Kpop soloist Chuu's [Howl] is so intimate, exploring her emotions, struggles, fears. It's like if she let us enter in her secret place, a revealed secret diary. Same ways the MVs represents her journey throught her emotions in a more or less metaphoric ways. Howl/Underwater introduce the individual hidden behind the bright idol In the other hand, Heejin's Algorithm is more ""on the surface"" and introduce a new skilled soloist (she wrote most of the lyrics). The demo, the title and the concept were imposed by Modhaus. Same way, the MV tells a well produce fiction : a bored princess escapes her castle to joins some idols friends (OEC). So she auditions to their company where Haseul, another trainee, auditions too. Algorithm's is a vitrine to Heejin's skills embodying Modhaus' touch. Both have their own charms. I feel so blessdd to have been able to see both finally releasing their 1st EP !! Our 1sr and 10th girl !!! Haseul solo soon, ARTMS 1st album soon, Loossemble 2nd EP already hinted !!! AAAAAAH

i cried watching and listening to underwater for the first time. i missed her voice so much.

Jesse

Yeah I definitely thought that Chuu would do something brighter for her debut but then she killed us with an emotionally moving MV/song instead and I’m just in TEARS

flowerbit

I saw chuu at her concert in LA last week and her performances of Underwater and Howl both brought me to tears. For Underwater she performed a more extended version of the song. And for Howl the instrumental was much more grand and cinematic even. And chuu seemed to be feeling emotional during these songs too. I couldn’t help but cry lol

flowerbit

Also Chuu’s name for her new fandom is Kkotti! Chuugummie is her YouTube channel fandom name, but kkotti is the fan name for artist chuu

beannieswife

the way i sobbed uncontrollably with both mvs and songs, knowing what loona had to go through, what chuu went through as the face of the group, this made me so emotional, i missed chuus voice so much

Tesa

Howl is one of my favourite songs of the year! And I absolutely love the choreo for it too!

flowerbit

btw! In chuu’s physical album/photo book, if u get the ‘Howl’ version, it comes with a small book that has a snippet of the storyboard for Howl MV
