Chapter 33: A Day of Warmth

The sounds of skin hitting skin filled the abandoned room, mixed with noises of passion as a young couple expressed their feelings for one another in the most intimate and ancient way possible.

Looking down at the sweaty and flushed form of Firefly as she writhed beneath me in pleasure, her expression alone making me thrust my hips even harder, I realized just what a lucky son of a bitch I was.

We had been going at it for hours without end, having already lost track of how many times I had brought Firefly to orgasm. I only knew that it was definitely in the double digits by now.

As my words slowly registered in her mind, Firefly blinked before focusing a loving gaze on me that made me blush despite the circumstances. Her hand came up and cupped my cheek.

“No, please keep going. Even if I end up passing out, don’t worry and just continue. You have my complete and full consent to keep making love to me until you exhaust yourself as well,” Firefly whispered lovingly to me as she leaned up and gave me a small kiss before moving her hips a bit, causing me to moan softly.

I already knew why she was saying this, of course. My sweet Firefly was still worried about me and wanted to make sure I recovered the months I had lost from my remaining lifespan by using Ryujin Jakka.

Knowing I wouldn’t be able to convince her otherwise—since, as I already knew, my lovely Firefly was quite stubborn when she wanted to be—I decided not to argue with her on that point.

‘That still leaves the matter of my new item, though. And I think I just found the perfect opportunity for her to take it without questioning things too much, now that her mind is completely turned to mush from how much sex we’ve been having,’ I thought silently as I extended my hand and let the bottle of Ambrosial Ampule land in my palm.

“Alright, but before that… remember when I told you that I got a cauldron that makes different kinds of potions like in video games? Like healing, regeneration, and stamina?” I asked softly as I slowly raised the very fancy bottle so she could see it.

Firefly nodded as she stopped moving her hips and looked at the bottle of golden ichor curiously. “I take it this is one of those potions?”

“Yes,” I said with a nod, only half lying as I shook it a bit.

“This is a potion that increases the user’s regeneration and vitality to a certain extent. If you’re really set on us continuing, and especially with that request of yours, then at least do me the favor of drinking this before we keep going,” I instructed gently as I slowly uncapped the bottle. My mouth immediately watered at the sweet smell that greeted me.

“Shouldn’t you take it first then?” Firefly asked with a small frown that immediately turned into a pout as I poked her nose playfully.

“I’m not the one on the verge of passing out, sweetie,” I teased with a smile, causing her to blush cutely despite my member still being wedged deeply inside her.

“F-Fine,” Firefly relented as we maneuvered a bit from our position and ended up with her straddling my lap, of course still connected at the hips.

Giving it to her with a truly happy smile on my face and watching her hold it in her hand, I made sure to mention the most important thing. “Make sure you don’t waste a drop, okay?”

“Hmph, I’m not a baby, you know?” Firefly pouted once more before bringing the ambrosia to her lips and slowly beginning to drink it, moaning a bit at the delicious flavor.

My eyes stayed zeroed in on the bottle, making sure she fully finished it and not a single drop was left. When it was done, I felt a huge weight lift from my shoulders as I let out a happy sigh, celebrating in my mind.

‘And just like that, Firefly will never have to worry about Entropy Loss Syndrome ever again… or any other disease for that matter, with the regeneration it gives her,’ I thought, truly happy, before recalling another detail about her and smiling even wider.

‘Now you too will be able to experience dreams just like everyone else, Firefly.’

“Hmm, that was delicious and it seems to have worked. I’m full of energy again,” Firefly interrupted my happy thoughts as she put the bottle away, wrapped her arms around my neck, and gave me a peck on the lips.

“Now what’s got you so happy?” she asked with a playful smile, then blushed prettily before looking away shyly. “I bet you’re just happy to continue making love without stopping, huh, pervert.”

Shaking my head, I gently grabbed her chin and had her face me again. I leaned down and kissed her on the forehead, then her cheeks, and finally her lips, happily.

“I just can’t believe that this is actually happening and I’m making love with one of the most beautiful girls in the universe,” I answered with a small smile, causing her blush to spread all the way to her ears.

“Ever since our reunion and when you decided to accept my feelings, it feels like I’m in a wonderful dream that I never want to wake up from,” I added honestly.

Firefly got closer and started peppering my face with kisses.

“This is not a dream, I assure you. Let me prove it to you,” she said softly before grabbing my shoulders and lifting herself a bit from my lap. I moaned as I remembered that we were still connected, my rock-hard member sliding out a little from her insides.

Stopping and leaving just the tip inside, Firefly made sure she was staring directly into my eyes before letting herself drop fully onto my lap in one go, moaning happily.

‘Thanks for soldering on, Caelus Jr. You may take it easy for the next few days,’ I thought with a feeling of joy and contentment so powerful I was almost sure a smug aura radiated off me in waves.

After such a day of debauchery, Firefly and I were now enjoying post-sex bliss as we cuddled on top of some clean blankets on the floor that I had to briefly travel to the Express to acquire.

“Hey, Firefly?” I asked in a soft whisper as I ran my hand down her still slightly sweaty hair and looked down at her beautiful eyes, which were staring back at me with a loving expression.

“What is it, d-darling?” Firefly asked back in a whisper just as soft, a cute blush on her cheeks.

Smiling wider at her nickname for me, which only made her blush deepen, I stole a quick kiss before continuing.

“When all of this is over, with the Aeons and preventing the end of the Universe, I mean…” I paused there as I became a bit nervous myself.

“What is it?” Firefly gently asked as she grabbed my hand, brought it to her cheek, and held it gently. “You know you can tell me anything, right?”

“I know,” I nodded in return as I swallowed a bit before continuing. “I already told you about my ability that lets me ‘teleport’ anywhere I wish, right? Schrödinger?”

“Yes, but what does that have to do with what you were saying before?” she asked softly with curious eyes.

“My ability… I think it’s much more powerful than I thought. Instead of just letting me ‘teleport’ anywhere I want in this Universe, I believe I can also teleport to another universe altogether,” I revealed softly.

“Another universe?” she asked with some surprise in her voice.

“Yes. One beyond even the Imaginary Tree, if I keep training it,” I said with a serious expression to let her know I was being completely serious.

The Imaginary Tree in this universe was considered by many to be the center of everything, or at least extremely connected to the beginning. Me saying that I could teleport to another universe beyond this meant a universe completely unrelated to this one, maybe even a universe from some of the anime or manga I had watched.

That last part was my hope and guess, though, and Firefly didn’t know that.

“That’s—!” Firefly was undoubtedly going to say “impossible” before stopping herself to consider my words for several moments with a serious look of her own.

“Why are you telling me this?” she eventually asked instead with a curious look.

“Well… I was wondering, if this proves to be true, and I have no reason to believe it isn’t, would you…” I paused again as nerves hit me once more before taking a deep breath and finishing.

“Would you want to come with me? I want to find a universe that’s not in danger of ending and possibly find a peaceful world where we can just enjoy ourselves being Caelus and Firefly. We can invite others too, of course,” I muttered a bit shyly. That thought had always been on my mind ever since I got the Schrödinger ability.

After all, if this universe existed, which had once only been real as a video game in my world, who said that other universes from other media didn’t also exist out there?

Firefly’s eyes widened at my question as my words once more shook her to her core. Then a beautiful smile lit up her face as a few tears leaked down her cheeks.

“Y-Yes,” she murmured quietly before hugging me more tightly. “Yes, of course I want to! If such a thing is possible, then nothing would make me happier.”

“I’m glad,” I muttered with a small sigh of relief as I hugged her back.

When Firefly got herself together again, we spent the next several minutes talking about the subject and about the things we could do. For example, Firefly wanted to experience a normal high school life with me one day and try different sweets like oak cake rolls, and possibly learn how to make them herself.

All good things came to an end, though, and soon Firefly informed me that she would have to leave soon since she had been away for too long. We got dressed again, as I was in the same situation.

Just briefly looking at my phone, I saw that I had hundreds of missed calls from March alone, along with a few from Himeko, Dan Heng, Welt, Bronya, Natasha, Serval, and even Seele.

We once more found ourselves facing each other before the door as Firefly looked at me with a worried lip. “So… how much did that help? And please be honest.”

Humming in thought, I concentrated a bit. I could indeed feel that my Curse had lessened compared to the last time I checked it.

“About half a month,” I muttered softly, frowning as Firefly’s face immediately turned sad and frustrated. “Please don’t be too sad. Like I already mentioned to you, in the worst-case scenario I still have a lifeline in the 1-Up Mushroom that will revive me if I ever die.”

Instead of being reassured, though, Firefly’s frown deepened as she shook her head.

“And I already told you that I don’t want you relying on it. Having a way to revive yourself doesn’t stop the fact that you will still have to experience all the pain and suffering that the Curse will bring you,” she said sternly.

I just sighed quietly while inwardly wondering if I should have shared that information with her during one of our breaks from having sex… before immediately coming to the answer that yes, it definitely had been the right choice.

Since Firefly was completely cured now, it wouldn’t take her long to figure out that she no longer had Entropy Loss Syndrome.

The only reason she wasn’t suspicious right now was probably because she thought it was still the effects of Tantric Healing on her.

Firefly would immediately come to the right conclusion that I was responsible for curing her and be really mad, or at least annoyed, the next time we met.

“Hmm, you said that you have the power to ‘teleport’ everywhere you want, right?” Firefly brought me out of my internal worries about getting scolded later as she looked at me with a thoughtful expression, as if she was thinking of something.

“That’s right,” I nodded simply.

“And that other ability you got from your eye powers lets you bring other people into a personal pocket dimension that you can access at all times, right?” Firefly continued as her gaze turned more hopeful and happy as she went on.

“Yes?” I raised an eyebrow, a bit confused about where she was going with this.

“Then it’s settled!” Firefly declared with a firm expression as she planted her hands on her hips and looked at me with a happy smile. “I’ll let you know when I’m free from my duties as a Stellaron Hunter, and then you can teleport to my location, transport me to your pocket dimension with your eye powers, and then return to the Express.”

“Once there, we’ll proceed to make love and then repeat the process as much as we can until you find a proper cure,” Firefly finished, looking genuinely proud of herself despite the blush on her face.

“T-That… That might actually work. And it would also let us spend some time with each other,” I said with another blink as I ran over the plan in my head and didn’t see any real downsides.

Oh, wait—there was one.

“I’ll just have to let Pom-Pom know I might receive a visitor and make sure to always keep my door locked,” I muttered to myself with a nod.

“Great, everything is settled then.” Firefly nodded with an immensely pleased and happy look on her face before she leaned up on her tiptoes and gave me a brief kiss.

“Now I really have to get going before Kafka or Silver Wolf decide to come fetch me personally,” Firefly said as her happy expression immediately became a bit sad at the mention of leaving.

Adopting a similar expression, I nodded. Unable to help myself, I pulled her into a brief but tight hug that she wholeheartedly returned as I whispered into her ear.

“I’m so happy that we got to meet again so soon and that I finally got to tell you how I feel about you. I’ll see you soon, I promise,” I said softly, getting her to nod her head silently.

Backing away, Firefly’s eyes were a bit misty, but her smile was radiant as she gazed at me. “I’m so happy too. Since reuniting with you again, I’ve been having the happiest moments of my life.”

“And don’t worry, we will definitely be seeing each other soon. I have no doubt that you’ll do something incredibly foolish but brave again that will cause you to push yourself too hard.” Firefly’s look turned a bit accusatory toward me as I turned sheepish in turn, since I couldn’t deny her words.

“Hehehe, you know me best.”

“I do.” Firefly nodded happily before wiping her eyes and letting out a sigh. “Now I must really be going, or I won’t want to leave.”

Nodding, I smiled at her. “Of course. Oh, and congratulations~” I congratulated her seemingly randomly, causing Firefly to look a bit confused.

“Why are you congratulating me?” she asked in some confusion.

“Hehehe, you’ll see. Bye~”

With a teasing smile and a wink, I was swallowed by a vortex and disappeared via Kamui, leaving a perplexed Firefly behind.

‘Yep, she’s definitely going to be mad once she finds out.’
