Comic #899: Back to the Raid (Patreon)

This morning when I started drawing the comic I realized I had to change the final panel. Originally it was just going to be a bunch of corpses with Keydar's saying "Now what?"

I saw no issues with this punchline when I conceived of it yesterday, but this morning I realized the comic was way too similar to #895 for my liking. The premises are slightly different, but in both cases, Narya sets out a plan where the punchline is a raid wipe.

I therefore decided to alter the punchline slightly. Instead of the aftermath of a raid wipe, I thought I would show one in progress, where it is much clearer what the cause is. I also thought Keydar & Narya embracing each other would add a funny touch.

I also went back and forth on what to show in panel #3 with Donald. I figured I had two options, either Donald became so dumb he was catatonic, or his intelligence dropped below zero and integer overflow made him omniscient. I thought the later would be funny, but would completely detract from the rest of the comic and arc.

Though I love the idea of integer overflow in general in a comic. I may have to explore that somewhere later...
