This might be my favorite title ever.

My biggest struggle with these arcs is trying to lay down some exposition in each comic in case the reader hasn't seen the previous comics in the series. In #899, I used the debuff itself as exposition. Just seeing and reading the debuff communicates what's happening.

Unfortunately, in this particular comic, I didn't feel like showing the debuff in the first panel really worked. Originally, I had Narya giving an exposition dump to Keydar while he tried to come up with a new plan, but it felt really unnatural.

Eventually, I came up with the idea of Krom asking what was going on, and having Narya just tell him. This also allowed me to show Krom getting pissed off, which was more entertaining than just bouncing the concept off of Keydar who was already in on it.

I also changed Narya's dialogue in the final panel at the last minute. Originally, he was just saying, "Fuck." But then it occurred to me how much better it would be for him to voluntarily go back to the bench. I often like ending my arcs right back where they started. This arc also has the added benefit of ending right back at the first raid.

Anyway, happy 900!

Nooo, not Molten Core! x.x Clearly the Arcane Ignorance debuff works by sending people's minds back to the era of classic WoW, when bosses only had like two or three mechanics...

Molten Core is just too hard, they will fail without a raid leader who is unable to lead a 40 player raid! It's like a classical orchestra where the conductor is only able to conduct a quartet.

Best title ever.

Weren't Blackrock Depth, Blackrock Spire, Scholomance, Stratholme and co. actually raids at the start before MC/Ony came out? Sorry for going back that far :P

Konstantinus

Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair where available from Day1.
