Comic #912: Back in Action (Patreon)

I was originally going to do a different comic with Thrall and Andin (which I still might do) and this idea came to me last minute. The original idea was a bit similar to #883, and I was worried about it being a bit redundant. It also had a little to do with him being gone for multiple expansions, so the original idea did lead into this one. I knew I wanted to do something with Thrall, and I wanted it to be playful and silly, because I like making stoic lore characters act ridiculous. (See Velen and Illidan).

This comic doesn't have a traditional punchline, but I like the wholesome aspect of it. I also like the meta-ness of lore characters breaking the fourth wall and referring to the world as a game. I also like how Thrall is effectively taking the place of a player who's coming back to the game after a long time, and I feel that's relatable.

Three panels came to me instantly, the first with him squishing the guard's face, the 4th with him ribbing the guard, and the general idea of the final panel. The rest of the panels I knew needed to be random changes in the game since Cata.
