Comic #980: Repair Mount (Patreon)

I knew right away I wanted to continue on from the previous comic. There was too much I could do with Marda as a repair mount. Originally I thought of doing it from Marda's perspective inside the void where ever mounts live when they aren't summoned. In the end I decided it would work a lot better if it were left up to imagination. I could really go Lovecraftian with it.

I will probably stick with Marda again next week, unless I can't think of anything good.

This one is a bit unusual in that it only has four panels. I originally had a fifth panel, but I removed it almost at the last minute. I realized that the comic worked a lot better with just four. I'm going to put that panel up as the Bonus Panel for this week.

The hardest part in this comic was panel #3. I knew I wanted to have Marda and Nyte visible in the panel, but I also needed Nyte to be on the mount with Marda below her. It was kind of a tricky angle. And on top of that, I needed a giant wall of text to fit in the panel. I considered making that panel double the width to make it happen, but I would have had to remove a panel. And then in the end, I removed a panel anyway! At that point I had already drawn the panel and was happy with it, so I just left it as is.

I think it works? Could you all tell it was Nyte sitting on a mount with Marda on the side of the mount below her? Let me know.
