Comic #998: Reality Bites: Part Seven (Patreon)

I kept my sketch for panel 4. I tried my best to capture that vanish animation pose and needed to sketch it out first to get it right.

I went back and forth on whether or not to include the spell description on Vanish in the final panel. Originally I was just going to reveal that it required flash powder and that alone made them want to return to the fantasy world. However, I thought it would be fun to give vanish a more realistic description of how it would work in the real world. I also thought about early vanish in game and how often it failed to work, and liked the idea that vanish in the real world is closer to classic wow than retail.

In the final panel, I also had Nyte holding the tooltip originally, however I couldn't figure out how to stop it from overlapping with Narya's head and remain legible. Also her thumb kept blocking the most important part of the tooltip, the flash powder.
