This idea was sitting in the bank for a while. It came from a conversation I had in game with a friend. The idea I had written was "Murloc traders offer item to reroll corruption". The idea was that a new patch was going to institute a method of rerolling corruption on equipment, and the players found out it required the murloc traders.

However soon after that conversation they revealed they would be instituting a method of purchasing specific corruption, and the idea fell to the bottom of my list. This new game mechanic did end up adding another currency though, which helped spawn the idea for this version.

I had to plan the final Murloc dialogue very carefully. I wanted to make sure I used currency for multiple expansions. I also wanted to make sure to include some currency that no longer exists, to make it impossible to farm other than with raw gold. You can actually calculate how much gold it would require Nyte to buy a single Echo, and I very carefully adjusted the values in the formula to end up with a very specific number.

I'll leave it to one of you to figure out. I really hope I didn't make any errors. I had to carefully construct the speech bubbles so they would not overlap with any of the values.

EDIT: I realized I forgot to explain the joke here for those readers that have not played this expansion. There is a murloc in Nazjatar that sells daily special items, including a mount. In order to purchase this item you need to participate in the "Murloc Trading Game". Essentially, Each item is purchased using currency which you obtain from other 4-5 murlocs in the area. The common currency is purchased with gold, then uncommon currency is purchased using common currency, then rare currency is purchased using uncommon currency, and finally the daily item is purchased using the rare currency. This game is the same reference as the punchline in comic #690.

I attempted to calculate it, not sure if I made a mistake, but nothing about the value I got seems significant to me. I'll have to double check the formula (and my math) again later. I'd be curious to compare notes with someone who think they have the right amount.

Same here. I googled the number I got and it suggests a Les Miserables reference?

Yeah, that's what I got. I guess I don't know it well enough to get the reference?
