I was running low on ideas so I finally started reading about Shadowlands content. Covenants are essentially a player faction choice that give rewards which include a class specific ability. Thus Keydar here is making his decision based on which covenant gives him the best DPS. The angel here is sad because he knows his faction's ability is not great for Keydar, and thus the plight of his people continues.

I have made similar comics about characters making roleplay decisions based solely on DPS and min/maxing. I originally thought that maybe Keydar at the end would be simming the dps of his choice, but ultimately I thought it would be funny to see it from the NPC perspective.

This current mechanic is pretty controversial for many players, and I wanted to poke fun at the situation as a whole instead of trashing the mechanics, or putting down players who do or don't min/max. This was another reason I enjoyed making the punchline more about the NPC and less about the player.

The NPCs in the game are so invested in pulling characters into their story, but ultimately our goals as players are pretty selfish.

I usually don't do this, but I actually made an early sketch of this one yesterday. Most times I will just write down a script on Saturday, and in it I will include dialogue, and how the characters are standing or expressing. In this case I was using so many different poses for the angel I wanted to create a quick sketch to see how it looked:

Great comic! I really hope Blizzard changes stuff because I want to pick a covenant based on the story (and mog). Guess we'll see

I've been playing this game for 13 years now, with some gaps in between. I'm not top player, but I'd venture to say I'm a pretty decent healer. But the irony is, the more time passes, the more I incline into Donald's point of view: "I'm playing a game and it's fun and I'm having fun!". Not really into maxing anything anymore, or even endgame stuff. I just like to play sometimes.

I loved it so much I need to write a comment.

I love how Keydar is on board with everything the angel says despite not really caring in the slightest.
