Thank you so, so much for making these!

Eileen Parkman

Thanks for the awesome BTS, especially with flood to deal with before you could even begin filming.

Angie Woollard

I exclaimed "OHHH!!" out loud twice while watching this. The first with the flooding...and the second with licking Geoff's hair.😳 (I can totally picture that working though...like licking thread to thread a needle.) Gosh your son is a cutie. ❤️ I absolutely adore your attention to detail - that you watched the movies before filming to get a better feel for the characters, and the Easter eggs and special nods. Huge applause to you both! Kathy, all the things you organize and run - camera, playback, getting costuming and props - I don't know how you do it! You are amazeballs, lady! Geoff, you're amazeballs too. You just exude calm and patience in all these BTS videos and I really admire that.

Grace Files

Thank you so much for this!! It was very interesting to see the process of how you made this one, I've been curious about it since I saw the video. I'm sorry about the leaks but at least it didn't get on the set, but that still seems like a pain. Thanks again for everything, I appreciate you guys so much❤️❤️

Huldra Draco

Thanks for another amazing BTS, Kathy and Geoff! William is adorable, looks like he has a lot of fun visiting on set 😄 You did a great job on the costuming, Kathy, it looked amazing! Always fun to see the work you guys do on creating the set, it looked so good! And cool that the new tech allows you to be running the camera's in an easier way, Kathy! ❤

Karen & Lauren

I agree with Huldra. Love that some new tech made things a lot easier, despite all the hiccups. And, of course, it's not a proper BTS without William. Enjoy these years - they slip by quite fast.

Stephanie Graham

Loved watching this! I love how it becomes a collaboration with everyone like Eli, Layne, Tony, and Rick. It’s so interesting to watch how the scene pulls together after putting in the pieces.

Lis M

I can't wait for the song to go public so I can share it with all the people! Seeing the progression of the dwarves was fun.

Sue Armstrong

It's always fun to see how much work goes into these, although the unexpected mopping probably wasn't so fun. William was obviously there for a fun time! Thanks for the dedication and hard work in creating something so awesome. Tip of the hat to you,, Geoff, Kathy, and Rick! (And Eli and Layne!)

Jason Cranford

How absolutely awesome! William is such a silly boy lol. It's amazing all that you can do and watching these just shows how much Kathy is part of VP. ML

J.L.

This is... fire! ^_^ Appreciate the glimpse behind and good job, everyone! Even the dancer at the end there!

Marlo Schalesky

Love it! Especially the dancer at the end. :-) And I love this song. I'm thinking this is my new very-favorite!

Katherine Powell

Another great bts video. These are always such a joy to watch. Kathy, your attention to detail is always amazing and much appreciated. I really wanted the last clip to be Geoff picking up William from crazy hair day at school with his crazy hair. 🤣

Amanda Hovendon

Thank you for this BTS. This version of this song is now my favorite. I love that you included the dwarves in this song instead of doing it solo like in the original Ed Sheeran music video. It adds more to the story of this song and a different viewpoint. The set looks amazing as always. I love what Eli did the lighting design in this one. Rick’s makeup and hair design is once again superb 👍And kudos to Kathy for literally everything that she does. She truly is a rockstar ❤️

Crisstina Joubert

Man, I have to tell you, I was bloody impressed the first time I heard you, but since becoming a patron for you and VoicePlay, my level of respect for everyone involved has shot into the stratosphere. The amount of effort, attention to detail and work you all put into your videos is incredible, and it's the humor and down-to earth

Amanda Hovendon

I hope I’m not pushing it when I ask, will there be an autographed print for this video? Cause I’d really love one❤️❤️❤️

Jacky Friedman

Thank you Geoff, Kathy, Rick, Eli, Layne and William. This was awesome.

Crisstina Joubert

"Realness" that adds so much more. 'Misty Mountains Cold' was awesome, but your 'I See Fire' is very special. I can't imagine that it won't far surpass MMC. Seeing William having fun to the music was a real treat, as well. Thank you so much!!

MJ

GEOFF I LOVE IT but i have a question rang please in this song

Jacky Friedman

I totally agree with you 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯% These guys are amazingly talented in everything they do. All of them. In the videos and behind the scenes.

Maryse B

My god I would like to have this kind of work in life, in fact it would not be a job but a hobby. Thank's Kathy for sharing some of your work with us. Thank's geoff for this beautiful song.

Gillian Drysdale

what an amazing amount of work goes into this and as always I’m bowled over by how much Kathy has to do! what a great team you are ❤️

Ashley Evers

If that was sphagnum moss, then yes it's real moss that's been dried out 😁 Your work on those costumes really paid off, Kathy. The looks are amazing!

Brontesaurus Rex

"What level patron perk do you think that's gonna be? Put Geoff's hair in your mouth" WOW okay XD

Laura Harris

Well, apparently the ceiling took 'I See Fire' a little too literally and tried to put it out. Sorry you had to clear up all that water though!

Deb Dodson

I'm so impressed with Kathy's attention to detail and organizational skills! That guy singing is pretty OK too!

Debbie Buck

Thank you for sharing this with us. Geoff, Kathy, William and everyone else involved, great job!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ilona Dever

If I knew you needed pine needles, I would have trucked mine down from North Carolina just for the chance to sit in the corner.

Tracie Schlaak

Awesome as usual. Lot being a patron ❤️😊

Laura Harris

Watching the rest of it now, and it's fun to see how everything gets put together, it always looks like so much work. And great choices for the costuming, Kathy. Easy to tell who each Geoff-dwarf is meant to be (particularly Thorin once Rick finished with the prosthetics) and I love the extra thought you put into the walking stick reference for Kili's injury! Bofur's hat was a great choice too, definitely similar enough. Also the sounds I made at the 'earl of sandwich' (that is 100% the kind of thing I would mistakingly hear), Geoff's hair patreon perk and his accent at 14:00... it's gone 3am and I really shouldn't be laughing this loud. You're both amazing. And for the record, William's dancing at the end is absolutely how I feel when listening to this song. Hoping it does well too because I love it just as much as SoS!

Alicia Ember

William is the absolute best

Gretchen G

It's always so interesting to see all the little details that go into these videos. Separating leaves, rotating the tree stump, licking Geoff's hair, etc. 😁

Amanda Nott

So much work, but also so much fun! Would love to just sit in the corner and watch the process someday lol!

Anja Eder

Good morning from Germany, what a nice start to the day!!! Many thanks for the insights into the pictorial creation process. It's amazing how much creativity and attention to detail you need to put a song into a picture /video.

Tine

Oo yay. Thank you!

Carol Franklin

I suppose flooding makes a change from busted air conditioning! As always your attention to detail is incredible. I’ve owned this song for years & I prefer it to Misty Mountains too🤞 let’s hope it does as well.

Debs Badger

Every time I watch a BtS, I am in complete awe of how you manage to pull so much off with just the two of you. All the smallest of details are considered, even things that might not get noticed. Just amazing. Thank you for taking the time to record and edit some of the process to share with us. 💕

Tine

Thanks you all so much for sharing this. I always realy love thr BTS. It is incredible how much details you guys incorporate. The set looked amazing and so layered. All these costuming details and easter eggs too. Just incredible. The dedication you have to lick his hair. That bead looks super nice, so that is well worth it🤣 Layne not being surprised at the leak sounds very Layne🤣 glad it didn't destroy any equipment or props needed. For him to have such a large production space, Y'all made him sound very unbothered. I always love seeing you get into character, Geoff😆 so entertaining. Thank you again for everything! I love this song, and your rendition SO very much! Fingers crossed for it to do well out in the wild. I shall be your first million views, I am sure😉😆❤️ Also, that is an interesting app you got there by the way! Glad it helped you a lot, I love to see you guys try new things and give it all a good testrun.

Dawn Ours

So Looking Forward to this release ! Thank you for taking such good care of the Tolkien world ! J.R.R. Tolkien would approve.

Åse M Bruun Lagnestål

Thank you! Once again a behind the scenes that made me be ever thankful for your amount of work put in the video. You’re the perfect team. YOU ROCK!

Erma Payne

Thank you, Geoff! You and your team are doing all the work, and we do appreciate everything you do. Can't wait to see the final release. It's so neat to see how these are put together. I feel certain this will do well!

Sarah Borzelli

I really enjoy watching the process of making the video, so thank you so much for the extra work! Kathy you are awesome...the brain you need to organize all of this!! I hope Geoff is aware of how very lucky he is to have you and I hope he shows you how thankful he is every day (I'm sure he does). Even your dedication to lick hairspray and tint off Geoffs hair 😝...NO for the new patreon perk, but YES for a glimpse inside your brains! It was very interesting to see, how Kathy had to decide which character had to sing which lyrics! I admire the amount of dedication and love to detail you put in the making of the video. It shows in the final product, the video turned out great! I imagine William is like this the whole day long 🕺with additional singing and talking...my daughter definitely is

Gina Wever

This is a wonderful way to start the day 😀 I am so thankful to be able to watch this. Its very interesting to see how much work is put in one video. Kathy you're amazing! You have to be an allround manager to pull this off! Chapeau!!👏 thanks guys, can't wait to see the end result!!!💚🌹

Karin Wolf

Yaayyyy! Thanks so very much... ❤️‍🔥

Cynthia Ross

Careful with the “what level patreon perk is that?” jokes you two; you just may get offers from this crowd! 😏 How oddly prophetic that y’all ended up working on/releasing this song in this time frame with all the wildfires in Canada right now. We’re choking on the smoke here in Maryland!

SunnyOutlook

I love watching the BTS videos. It makes watching the music video so much more enjoyable knowing how much love and care goes into the production and I appreciate the hard work that goes into the project even more. Thank you!

Patricia Schuman

Loved the misunderstanding over Geoff's "I feel like Colonel Sanders" comment. After the latest Instagram reel, he certainly seems to be Earl of the PICKLE Sandwich!

Dani

You guys are nothing short of amazing. Kathy I don't want to see you everyday schedule for Voiceplay, Geoff and your everyday life. This is so well thought out. If you continue on this journey we'll have a full blown movie at some point. And why is Fili giving me vegetables in underwear vibes at 14.00 minutes? I wear a fancy beard, you wear a fancy beard, everyone wears a fancy beard! - But don't lick it 🤭

Virginia Small

How interesting that you used a backdrop instead of a green screen. Wouldn't that have been cheaper? I would think that backdrop could only be used once. But hey, you guys know what you're doing. I'm just asking. When you have another auction I want one of those weapons. :D

Suzy Bailey

Well you can't say your job isn't varied Kathy! Licking Geoff's hair, rotating tree stumps, sprinkling pine needles, licking Geoff's hair, ha ha! Geoff you are awesome and Kathy is awesomer. I'm constantly surprised by your creativity and love your attention to detail! The dancing groupie at the end, so cute, and finished off the BTS nicely! 😊💜🇬🇧

Angie Woollard

Who are those folks sitting at the table in the background at 14:36?

Jay Fritz

Thanks so much for putting this together! You have so much fun at this!

Angie Woollard

I THOUGHT they resembled Rick! Thanks for the confirmation. :)

candi lunsford

These are always great. I love the interaction and it's great to learn about production. Sorry about the leak, and I know it wasn't funny, but all that went through my head was William telling Layne to "clean your potty" when the bathroom sprang a leak during another filming. You've obviously been upping your game here too and it shows. LOVE it!

Angie Woollard

I think the issue with the green screen is keying it all out after it's been shot is quite an undertaking.

Lori Templeman

Love the BTS, as usual! When Bofur went all German, my mind went to "Haus of Holbein" from Six the Musical!

Janet Wright

Me too! I was certain that was going to be the “after the gramophone”. Easter egg.

Janet Wright

Makes me want to dig out my vintage 1960s paperbacks. It’s been along time since I read all of those. But I guess I should watch the second movie first so I know why they’re singing the song!

Janet Wright

I have what I call my “feel better file”. It has links to various songs, videos, and quotations that make me feel better when I’m having a really bad day. One of my favorites is the Web chat where he reads that silly book. When I’m really in a bad mood that’s the one I turn to because it always makes me laugh.

Dan Black

ICY FIRE Sorry, I just noticed that. I'm probably very late to that game. Sorry you had to deal with rainy leaks. That's never fun.

Bart Huhn

Thanks for sharing, I love the BTS so much!

Dani

That is a very good idea!

Julie Gallagher

It's amazing how much work goes into one of these videos. I'm so impressed by how you guys manage to pull everything together and make the finished product look so effortless.

Shirley B Karr

Love the BTS! On top of seeing how much hard and creative work goes in to making this look effortless, love the cameo by dancing William. My son won't participate in school spirit stuff so it's fun to hear about a kiddo who will. Glad you sent him to school in pajamas on the correct day this year. LOL!

Melissa Struxness

So freaking addicted to this video. Kathy is perfect with the costumes your makeup person ROCKS and Eli and the lighting is fabulous. Your arrangement and characters and voices of course are simply perfection. I watch it at least once a day and share it with everyone!! So so freaking good

Tema Krempley

Everything about this video is perfect about this video except one thing... \j Misty Mountains is the better song! But you do both of them justice. I hope one day you Billy Boyd's The Last Goodbye from The Battle of the Five Armies. Might as complete the set!

Liz Dyson

I love your version of I see fire Geoff.

Ms Molly

This is in my top 3 of your solo work songs. Along with High and Dry and Blackbird. No, honestly, with your stuff it's too hard to choose favorites because everything you do is an instant favorite!

Talbot

THIS is my very favorite of your Hobbit trilogy. Misty Mountains Cold deserves the attention it gets but I See Fire broke my heart.💔 So much hard work from both of you, I'm impressed. Meanwhile, I love this BTS! Rick was such a good sport, jumping in to help clean, and William's dance breaks are always wonderful. 😂

Dame Valiant

Crazy how it actually ended up happening almost 3 years later!!

Jen

That was a Lot of energy at the end of this 😂 it's good to get the wiggles out
