Leon, Brian, Darren and Michiel pair up for a frantic session of the fourth game in Nintendo's cartoon racer series, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! The game launched to great anticipation but a mixed reception in 2003. Was the GameCube game too gimmicky, too chaotic for its own good, or is it only right and proper that this was the instalment that locked in the aesthetic and handling templates for the next 15 years and five instalments (or more)?Music used in this podcast:1. Ah good old baby park. the chaos and the murder of the track is a perfect metaphor for life itself and will forever live on in infamy as a well placed red shell resulted in my beatiful fiancee directing some rather colorful adjectives towards me hahaha love hearing about nintendo games I missed! thanks for helping me cruise through work

I had extremely limited mileage with Double Dash. I had my Gamecube with me at Uni and after a run through of the tracks in single player, the house share and I quickly tired of the multiplayer. I've not been back since do to being so unimpressed by what was my first Mario Kart...maybe I expected too much? The disc was always quickly changed back to Soul Caliber 2
