Hey there kind patrons, it's that time again where we - as in Leon and Jay - chat about the kind of random stuff we don't usually cover in the regular podcasts, along with trying to answer the questions that you good folks left us recently (don't worry if we didn't get around to your question, we'll carry it over into next month's poddy instead). Anyway, here you are - enjoy!

Concerning spoiler talk: I do expect spoilers on C&R reviews generally if it is a story heavy game. Avoiding them or being vague is a kindness. However, maybe grouping spoiler talk in with particular sections near the end of the episode makes sense. Time stamps for spoiler sections would be real useful too. That said, I am very ok with all C&R content being spoiler heavy. I apologize if having a spoilery comment in the Nier patreon section ruined something for someone. That wasn't the intention. I genuinely didn't think it would be read in a forum where a spoiler might be upsetting.

Hey Leon and Jay. First up, thanks for the consistently brilliant content from yourselves and the rest of the team. On the topic of spoilers, i feel pretty strongly that being able to discuss the intricacies of a plot or mechanic that may be considered spoilers is really integral to the format. I obviously understand the challenge with maximising listenership but I think it's to the show benefit to be able to talk openly about any elements as so much of the artform is interconneted.

Agreed. A spoiler warning is all that is needed prior to discussion just in case. Odds are, if you are listening, you're already clued in but better to be safe than sorry

I think the spoilers are fine, honestly. Having to skirt around them during a discussion will make it less natural to listen to. My approach to them is that if it's a game I'm interested in playing, I'll save the pod until after I've played it through myself, otherwise I'll just listen to it. Also, what IS that music at the start? I'm sure I recognise it from somewhere...

I am back. Hearing tales of You both crying at patreon cancellation i can only imagine what it was like having you both stare longingly out the window while heart will go on from titanic played in your heads awaiting the sweet return of my patreon funds.

on the spoiler discussion I think the very nature of the cane and rinse podcasts raises the expectation that spoilers will be part of the experience. I think worrying about where to place spoiler discussions may hurt the podcast more than help gain new listeners. I love the long form discussions of every facet of the game and I live vicariously thought he c and r when it comes to games I may never get the chance to finish or arcade titles that would crumble my meager thumbs into dust. The podcast is perfect just the way it is and keep up the awesome work :)

Love the podcast! I personally prefer you keep the current format with spoilers, as I'd think that trying to keep the podcast spoiler-free could likely stifle the conversation as they seem so open and free and trying to keep all the spoilers contained to one segment just seems unnecessary. I come here because you dive deep into the story and place few if any limits on topics for discussion. I'd rather you not have to risk hindering it.

RE Spoilers, there is definitely episodes I skip or save because of spoilers. I've not got to play Nier just yet, so that's one I've skipped for now. But what it means is, later on I can rediscover that episode when I have played it, it's like I've stuck the episode in a long term saving account to enjoy at a future time :D
