The biggest selling racing game of all time (at the time of recording, now overtaken *ahem* by Mario Kart 8), and the sixth mainline entry in Nintendo's character racing series, Mario Kart Wii. I've always been a good Mario Karter. This proved to be to my detriment on a fateful day in 1998. An N64 had been set up in my school's sixth form common room, and regular games were played. Thanks to my aforementioned ability, I repeatedly positioned in first. One day this became too much for a schoolmate, who punched me full force in the face after I overtook him in the last stretch. Sadly, this broke my glasses, leaving me both in pain and unable to see. I've never had much enthusiasm for the series since! To finish on a happy note, I recently started playing Mario Kart on SNES against some friends I have as an adult. Despite my repeated victories, I have yet to be punched. Yet...

Haha yeah I guess so. That's what you get for growing up in Yorkshire!

Probably the Mario Kart I’ve played the least. Which is weird as I loved my Wii. Great episode as always though.

Another great show, and it's really made me want to go and play the game again, and especially seek out some of these custom tracks, I had no idea they even existed!

Wow- I played some of the older games back in the 90s but not played this. Only really commenting to say that track at the end was a real attention grabber

Luke Grimbleby

Haha meant to put that on Streets of Rage 4
