Bet you thought we'd forgot about putting one of these out this month didn't you? Well, fear not dear Patrons here's your monthly fix of two rapidly ageing nerds gassing about a whole bunch of random stuff for a couple of hours.

Enjoy!

Another vote for ‘Unpacking’ here, great game full of really nice little touches!

Great show guys, listened to it all now. Leon, if you like genre films then you might like the long-running ‘Now Playing’ podcast - each episode looks at an entry in a series (horror series like Friday 13th, all the Marvel films, James Bond etc.). They did a run on Child’s Play but I think it’s behind their paywall - they aren’t as giving as you guys! Thanks as well for the first crush chat, brought back fond memories of Denice Pearson from 5 Star!

Games I can’t go back to: a lot of the early 3D games. How did we manage without the second stick? First celebrity crush: Whitney Houston, don’t think I need to add anything to that.

This was a great show guys, I'd follow up on Jay's recommendation for Lamb, it's really interesting and well done, there's not a lot like it. Also I watched Eternals and think it's ok, but a lot of the criticisms were warranted, it looks good and plays with some interesting ideas, but it doesn't flesh them out enough and had inconsistent writing. I don't think it's the worst MCU movie, but it certainly has it's share of flaws.

The Pensky File

Thanks for the podcast - the soundtrack for my fall clean-up. Have a good month!

Have you guys heard of or gone in on Dr. Brain? It's a Korean show on Apple TV Plus and it's just a great Sci fi thriller show, very slick and well directed.

Did you guys check out the relaunch of GamesMaster? For what it was I thought it was pretty good, and had a decent variety of games. If anything it gives Rab Florence some TV time, which works for me because his dry wit and gaming knowledge are always great to hear. To follow up on this, do you think it's strange that gaming has never been bigger, but it's representation in mainstream media is absent outside of the occasional scoffing reference on late night BBC culture shows? Or do you think YouTube and podcasts are all we need anyway? I guess for me it'll be nice to watch gaming content on screen without worrying if the gurning 20-something or bearded middle-aged man presenting it is a massive racist or misogynist.

Yo! I really enjoyed the Gamecube special, it was a wonderful little console that gave me some of my favourite gaming memories despite it being a bit of a short lived flash in the pan for me personally. I have a good story about the Gamecube that I would have posted as feedback for the episode but I didn't do it in time so I'll tell you here as it's a good one. Back in the early 2000's, I got a little purple Gamecube as a Christmas present along with Zelda: Wind Waker. Unfortunately I also had a Law A-Level exam in January right after the Christmas break. I hated my Law course so had left all my revision until after Christmas Day. As you can imagine I was absolutely entranced by Wind Waker in one of those ways that only a game or two a generation can do to you. I was totally obsessed, playing it all day every day and dreaming about it while asleep. This meant I turned up on the day of the exam having not done a single minute of revision. I opened the paper and thought "nope, I can't even write a single paragraph about this". I would have walked out but my tutor was sat right in front of me so instead I spent a couple of hours writing a detailed and gushing review of Zelda: The Wind Waker as my answer. I even started it with a note to the examiner saying "I'm really sorry about this but I haven't revised and my tutor is watching me, so I'm going to tell you about the greatest game I've ever played that I just got for Christmas". Obviously I failed the exam but I did get 8 marks or so for punctuation and grammar.

Only just managed to listen to this - another great show, thanks! As for first celebrity crushes, I had two. Debbie Harry from Blondie, and also Kylie from Neighbours. I remember clearly as a young kid, going to the newsagent to buy that weeks copy of Look In! magazine. They had a double sided poster, Kylie on one side and Michael Jackson on the other. As an 8 (or so) year old fan of both, I came up with a cunning plan. I took a poster out of one issue and surreptitiously slid it in to another, paid for my copy containing an extra stolen poster and stuck them both up in my bedroom. Thus began my life of crime.
