Yakuza 4 is one of my favorites in the series. Akiyama is easily one of my favorite protagonist in the series, especially to play as. He felt like he was really fast and had a great flow. This game definitely has problems though, that Saejima part, oof it’s bad. But just like Brian the end scene gets me hyped as heck! It does enough heavy lifting for me that when I think back to this game that’s the first thing I remember, and thus Yakuza 4 becoming one of my favorites in the series. I would recommend to people who have already played the series but it definitely isn’t where you want to start.

Just to say, these remasters do have new localizations over the original versions, not a massive overhaul but there's certainly some differences, and I believe they made an effort to make some of the very culturally specific minigames like MahJong more accessible. It was most significant in in Yakuza 3 which had quite a few things cut out of the original release. Would need to look things up to see the exact differences.
