Here's where you can contribute your thoughts and opinions for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for potential inclusion in the forthcoming podcast.A friendly reminder that where the feedback for the podcast is concerned, we love it - but keeping it brief is appreciated. We do want to include a breadth of opinions where appropriate, but no-one wants a discussion podcast that’s mostly reading out essays. Better to save yourself time and cut to the chase if you can.

On paper, a game like this hits all the marks. Souls-like combat? Check. Metroidvania exploration? Check. All of this wrapped within the Star Wars universe? Check. However, after playing the game I can’t say all of these were fully realized. The environments and music are well crafted to feel like a lived-in part of the Star Wars franchise. Combat was fluid and integrated Force abilities well - but a lack of enemy variety and underwhelming boss fights leaves room for improvement. Cal’s story has an interesting premise, but struck me as a relatively flat character (especially when compared to Cere’s story). Also, as a side note: this game was annoyingly buggy. Throughout my playthrough on a PS4, I was greeted with interruptive loading/freezing & unresponsive enemies.

This is a game I find impossible to have strong feelings about. The combat? It's fine, nothing to write home about. The puzzles? They're fine, although I remember none of them specifically beyond "put the ball in the hole". The characters? Well it's a modern big budget game so there's a base level of quality in the performances which puts them squarely at...they're fine. This game mostly reminds of a movie you see once, don't regret the experience, but then never think about again unless someone explicitly brings it up to you and even then your reaction is "Oh...yeah. I remember that. It was...OK I think?"

I remember enjoying this game, but I think it's telling that my main memory of Jedi Fallen Order was the constant freezing at the first boss until they pushed their first patch out.

I was pleasantly surprised when trying this on gamepass - given I’d heard a fair amount of negativity around it. It had a cracking intro that drew me in to the narrative and the enjoyably smooth traversal. The combat was very satisfying at times, particularly when successfully chaining together a cinematic sequence of moves, but could also be frustrating (possibly due to my own ineptitude). My enthusiasm sharply tapered off somewhere on an annoying lava planet and I never completed it. I enjoyed it more than expected though - sequel looks promising

Fallen Order was a game I didn't really have any expectations for. The recent Star Wars series/movies have done nothing but turn me away from Star Wars. It was therefore a big surprise that this game really captured me and I thoroughly enjoyed my time exploring the different planets, Kashyyyk being a highlight for me. The souls-like mechanics really scratched an itch for me and I had a lot of fun cutting through storm troopers and spiders. I ended up getting the platinum for this game and but would honestly tell people not to bother. Trying to decipher the map and find the last few percent of items on each planet was painful and boring at best. Despite me being soured by the trophy hunting I would recommend this game to anyone and I'm looking forward to playing Jedi Survivor soon.
