The thing that stands out to me in Life is Strange 2, better than anything else, is that scene where Sean and his birth mother talk at the hotel. I was impressed at how they threaded the needle in that scene, neither forcing Sean to forgive her nor demonizing her for her decision to walk out on the family. And that's kind of how the game felt to me in a microcosm. It was empathetic in a way that's still fairly rare in video games, treating its cast like people, even as they make decisions that cause them and the people around them a great deal of pain. It's something I'd like to see more of.
