I can't remember if it's been discussed on the podcast, but someone is making a fan comic of the Duel of the Fates script and it (the comic) is pretty excellent. I prefer the story to TROS too, so I may be biased

Steve Gilmore

Does the Gina Carano news make it in?

Sean W. from Warsaw

I know the guys over at Star Wars Theory on Youtube did a few animated scenes that were pretty good. Not sure if they're doing the whole script, though. Anyone know who's doing this whole thing?

Steve Gilmore

Looking forward to y’all’s take on it and what they do to cover her part.

Tim Brown

Great content- love the dive into the development of the scripts. Really good to have PB’s take too!

David Fieldsend

Yeah, I'm of two minds on having that discussion. First, I really enjoy the apolitical "x-wing" context of this show; it's a welcome respite. However, Gina's social media is now really going to affect Star Wars moving forward, so it seems worth discussing. I think the writers just move on from Nevarro entirely, which is the easiest way. I'd also like to add, for context, that my wife's family is Jewish (they're pretty much all non-practicing atheists though), and her relatively recent ancestors actually did flee Nazi-occupied eastern Europe and came to America. I honestly don't care if Gina tweets political messages (though I don't think it's wise), but she crossed a pretty bright line with her Holocaust comparisons, and especially her sharing a photograph from the Lviv Pogroms in Ukraine after the Nazis invaded, a photo of a bloodied woman fleeing in terror from her attackers right before they would beat her to death in the street with clubs. That is not an image Gina should share, especially considering she has a lot of kid followers who look up to her. I'm not psyched that I have to explain all of this to my 11-year-old daughter, who loves Cara Dune.

Steve Gilmore

I’m not asking for the boys to go into a deep political discussion about what she said. There’s tons of places for that. The only reason I asked if they were bringing it up was a how does this impact any shows or scripts and all of that. Do they recast or does she just get mentioned in a show how she fell into a Sarlacc pit and never seen again. The reason I like this podcast so much is it stays fun and it’s a subject I like to hear about.

Blake Weaver

Loved this show with a passion guys. The more history of Star Wars like this I can get the better for me. “Retro” Star Wars and its history will always be the most fascinating and important to me.

Clark Wilson

Great episode, guys! Pure RFR!

Jason Quattrone

One of the best episodes of RFR. Sometimes it's nice to hear the guys talk straight Star Wars.

Jason Quattrone

I wouldn't even make it a discussion. Mention it as news and moves along. Last thing RFR needs is a bunch of activists trolling the podcast.

Javier Solorzano

What about the bunch of trolling lucasfilm activists.... Don't Jason and Jimmy discuss them on occasion? This is just more of that Lucasfilm agenda That has unfortunately affected all SW productions & fans since Kennedy took over.... I believe that's worthy of a discussion Otherwise we'll just get more of the same.

Javier Solorzano

Bateman couldn't have put it more poetically. The entire Sequel Trilogy was "just a bad year"

Commander Bly

My Son was telling me that Gina’s apparent support for The Fandom Menace was a contributing factor? Personally, I don’t have a problem with what I’ve seen of her Tweets. Women who speak their minds are championed in our society, so long as they have a “certain point of view”. That said, she had to know it could come to this. She’s made her choice. I wish her well.

Trevor Hallam

Not sure if you guys caught this... but Jason had a fantastic pun haha. When Paul is talking about the Batman with lekku and there’s hands at the end of the lekku, Jason goes something like “That’s pretty handy.” HA!!

Trevor Hallam

*Batman no Batman. Darn autocorrect.

Antonio from NJ

@trevor this is currently my favorite thread because of your autocorrect

Adam from Indy

This was a fantastic episode! Seriously, one of the best in all my days of listening, which goes back to 2013.

Antonio from NJ

Pauls point on the sequel trilogy being 10 years too late was a really interesting point. Feels like if we did 7-9 ~10 years ago and it focused on the big three and peppered in the newbies would have set up 10-12 (focusing on the newbies) very nicely. :\

Bart Smets

Is there no video this time?

Eric from Phoenix

Great conversation guys and always love having Paul as a guest. I found Splinter at my small town library as a kid and read it many times. I know I loved it but honestly don’t remember much from the book. I remember Luke / Leia flew together in a y-wing. I remember the fight with Vader and being thrown into jail. Finally, I vaguely remember the Wookiee like creatures. I need to go back and read it :). Only other thought was the discussion on the Emperor. I was like JMac and I just thought he was ancient. That’s why I thought he looked to gross. Like Yoda but dark side human.

Steven Jimenez

What are the odds I go back to back listening to random old shows both featuring Paul!!!!
